I don't believe in junk DNA. Just because we don't know what it's for yet doesn't make it junk. I knew that in large herbivores, the appendix aids in the digestion of cellulose. I didn't know humans had any use for it. I learned something today. Stay healthy!

After reading this I'm glad I never became a scientist or someone that looks into DNA stuff. It's so complex. However, if they said we need to take out your tonsils or your appendix I wouldn't argue. Same with your gallbladder. My dad had his removed when he got gall stones. I don't want those that's for sure.

True. They should be removed when necessary. What I may not have explained enough was how back in the day it was being done as a routine operation. Thanks for the feedback. And then there's a case to be made to do more study on why they have a unique ability to help fight infections, and the sad part would be that those who have had organs removed, likely have underlying conditions and the virus feeds on it.

This was so interesting. I'm totally fascinated by what is being done with DNA and I can't wait to see what else they may learn. I had mine done a while back and I'm amazed at how much I have learned and at how much I still don't knew. I've always believed that everything in our body has a purpose. I was very upset to have my appendix and gall bladder removed because they became so infected that might have caused my death but I'm happy I still have my tonsils. I hope that means i have some protection from the virus.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I'm working on another installment called Germs and Genesis. It's intriguing how Israel used hygene techniques not learned from other tribes or nations. Some of what they did, if applied to China would have stopped this virus dead!

This is a very well-written, interesting, educational piece. It really makes you stop and think. You're right it would be interesting to compare medical history, find a common denominator between the ill. Maybe that will help us find a solution or at least a way to prevent further outbreaks. Great writing, I look forward to reading more.

What a marvelous piece of writing. I enjoyed your essay very much. I guess it's the nurse in me. I particularly thought your idea about tonsils was a very good one. I think the majority of us old codgers had our tonsils and adenoids out and that may be why the virus hits the old very hard. You did a great job. Shirley

Do keep writing for the book, "A Genesis Factor." This article is fascinating, and taught me much. I know that ever facet of the human body has a purpose, but I did not know exactly what for each. I want to know more, and your upcoming book already fascinates me.

This is a nice, logical, structured work on DNA and a research work to prove DNA is a miracle of creation and that the statement is appreciable - God don't make junk; it was a pleasant, informative read.

I must admit I hear them talking about evolution as if it is a "fact" but I remember adenoids were also whipped out, and when scientists have sent to the South Pole they whipped them out "just in case". I like the "mutation" analogy, it would take a whole lot of cells in collusion with one another to "evolve" the mathematical odds of this happening are so near impossible it doesn't matter. I remember a discussion with a mathematical/physicist friend finally admitting, "I don't believe in God," I said, "why didn't you say that in the first place" I've said to others, "one needs way more faith to believe in evolution than creation." Well done, they will probably not like this, after rejecting God, then realise that evolution is ridiculous, what then? Good job, blessings, Roy

Whenever I look at the human body, I'm truly amazed. We were fearfully and wonderfully made. I agree with you about the fact that every organ in our body was put their for a purpose. I think that because of the bad food that we eat along with drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol, and lack of exercise, we cause many of the malfunctions that occur in our body. This is very interesting. Thanks for sharing this informative and well written work. Well done!
