Some good thoughts here.
Maybe use a dash instead of an ellipsis after "Christians" for better emphasis.
He states twice THAT these sins (smoother with "that").
Our old sinFUL natures--?
So there's no condemnation in Christ COMMA but there is . . . (a comma slows down the thought and makes the idea easier for a reader to digest)

Romans... I thought Jesus was a Hebrew. It did take 200 to 300 years to spread the message of his death and resurrection. I'm sure squabbles occured. Well thought out essay. Clearly and creatively written. Nice work.

Happy Easter

Not sure what you?re getting at with your Jesus/Hebrew remark or your other comments either??? Joel Olsteen is probably not the best teacher for clarifying your understanding of these matters ...

A very good message and so true. I read Paul's teaching this morning in my personal worship. We may be shut in but nor shut out. Christ is the same , today, yesterday, and forever.
Well siad Bro. Have a great Easter

Hello Deniz22,

Romans 8 is a wonderful book of the Bible to read about life in the Spirit. Because we belong to Jesus, there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. In Romans 7, the scripture says, " we are not bound by the law of Moses." To your question, "What is "wretched? My 2 cents, wretched means the old man, miserable, maybe distressed, unhappy or the separation from God. As you said, sin leads us away from our Savior. We all have our battles as we try to become that new creature in Christ. When we are obedient to God's Word, we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held (wretched); that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter (the law). We all died to the power of the law, but as a new creature, we live in a new way because of Christ. We are not controlled by our old nature once we become a new creature in Christ. Our wretched ways are less as we move closer to Christ. It takes work to become that new creature. Yes, it's every saint's battle. It's the Spirit and God's Word that changes us! This is a lovely spiritual story for this beautiful holiday (Resurrection Day). Thanks for your explanation of the word "wretched." Happy writing:-) Great job!!!

Yes, Romans 7 and 8 deserve much more study and meditation.

The ?wretchedness? of the strain between the old and new nature?s is solvated by the infusion of the power of the Spirit in the present and His promise the future holds complete freedom from this inner conflict every believer experiences.

Thank you for reading and commenting. God bless.

We're all going to sin. It's the trying not to but not beating ourselves up when we do. We're all going to no matter how hard we try not to. You did a great job and a good reminder to all us.

A very well-written and explained piece from the scripture, where the old man is crucified on the cross with Christ, buried with Him, and the new man rise with Christ in the resurrection.

I don't think some Christians actually know the full and complete extent of Christ's achievement and complete covering of the believer, when He said "it is finished" He closed every possible loophole, there is nobody like the person who designed the human body and made everything so wonderful nobody else could come within cooee of the Lord's ability in these things, well done brother Dennis, blessings Roy

Yes, I think we all have difficulty with trying to take in the significance and scope of what our Savior has accomplished for each of us! Thanks brother Roy! He is Risen!
