I really like this. You've done a superb job of taking this popular script and making it your own. I applaud you on penning this witty, well thought out, humorous and well written work. Well done and keep writing!

Very well done! It is a new and interesting take on an old favorite. This is a great Calling Poetic Script Writers! contest entry. Best of luck in the contest.

Even more uplifting than six stars is a review that starts off with "Holy Shit Wow!" - Made my day!

Wow this is was amazing, all encompassing and extremely titillating! You certainly have the knack for engaging your audience. Your unwavering talent knocks this reader for six with your expert poetic waxing and devilish sense of humour. I think you are my favourite writer here for talent, content and engagement.
You really are a modern day champion of comedic timing.
I have to say some of my favourite lines were the naughty ones that skated the edge of the gutter, but only because they hovered on the edge of what's appropriate and what's accepted...and of course what is just downright funny. I saw excellent writing.
Close to THE best I have ever read of yours.
You make Romeo sound like the typical red blooded male with a lot of unrest in a certain area and fairly ready to do something with it and to someone...and Juliet the frustrating yet slowly yielding playmate while you use every poetic device in the book. I particularly liked the enjambment lines and the very humorous and playful imagery you created throughout with those obvious phrases and lines, but also I really enjoyed the uncommon rhymes you tend to use. VERY original and not something just anyone can do. Loved.
Some six for you Romeo LOL I smell the winners circle. You've cinched it I reckon. Must Book Mark.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this wonderfully ego-inflating review. Coming from a woman who knows a thing or two about humor, poetry, creativity, and toeing the line between playfully bawdy and crass, it means a lot.

Such Sweet Sorrow
by Mark Valentine

Hello, Mark

It's good to read your funny side again. It's the first one since I'm back. Your rendition of Romeo and Juliet is historical. A great entry for the Calling Poetic Script Writers! contest. Good luck in the contest, my friend. I will look for it in the voting booth.

Thank you Gypsy. I was gone for a while also - caring for my mom before she passed, then working like a dog trying to catch up on all the work that piled up while I was caring for my mom. It took a while before I felt like writing humor again,

I'm so sorry for your loss, Mark. I had no idea. I lost my mom when I was ten. There's no one in the world that can fill that emptiness. I know it's impossible to write without the muse but eventually she comes back. I was away for two years and didn't feel like writing. I just didn't have it in me and I thought the writing days were gone for good. But my little mused came back to me and obviously it came back for you too. I missed you when you were gone.

Stay safe, stay in, save lives.

Oh Mark.. Me thinketh you have strung the cords of my heart with your clever words and rhyme. You bring justice to the story of the young lovers ,the young man being true to your Markisms. Fun , so fun on this Easter morn. Thanks for the smile on my face and the laugh in the air.

And still, this Romeo has no luck, for his clothes she will not shuck! ;) LOL
This is fairly fantastic... I'd say it's a 6... possibly an 8 or 9... but we don't have those. lol I'm such a fan of Shakespeare and I love that you turned this into a comedy straight from the start! It's just fabulous and if you don't win I'd be completely astounded! :) Should I even bother to post? lol

A very well-written script if Romeo and Juliet with rhyme and a few twists to retell the story of the couple and a changed ending that let the story continue in the form of West side story.

You did a fabulous job with your humorous well-rhyming (even monorhyming with near tongue twisters) lines! So glad you joined in and hope you'll write more scripts rhymed or unrhymed! I think you'll do well in the contest!
