Being human, I expect most of us can understand Jonah's hatred of the Ninevites having murdered his brothers in that most awful way and not wanting them to be saved. But, true to their natures, those same people went back to their evil ways and were destroyed anyway. Noah's story is probably one of the best for teaching God's forgiveness and love. You wrote this superbly, Deniz. Very well done. Sandra xx

I believe it was some forty years later Nineveh was destroyed so we can be glad some were saved earlier by Jonah?s ministry.

This a very good post on Jonah. Much can be learned from him by looking at Jonah from God's perspective and God's reaction to his flagrant disobedience.

Well done!

A very well-written detailed history and revelation of the role of Jonah and how his life is linked to the role of Jesus. I am busy also with the role and purpose of Jonah in history.

I suppose everybody is corrected by someone else at sometime in their life or another. I thought this was actually very clever. You're a creatively bright person. Well thought out. Nice presentation. Clearly written. Great work :)

I think Jonah is a marvellous, and as you point, there's a lot more to the story of his reluctance, and later his own relenting and eventually going to Nineveh, mind you, it forgot and was destroyed anyway. But there are so much more than just a trip in a boat, then a "fish". The sign of Jonah applied to Jonah, I can relate to Jonah's sulk. Well done Dennis, excellent job, blessings, Roy

Jonah is one of my favorite stories in the bible. I guess it's because I was raised on Jonah and the whale. As I've told you many times, I do look forward to reading your teaching. Thank you. Shirley

Some interesting tidbits of information I wasn't aware of about Jonah. What the scholars suggest makes sense, and no doubt he despised having been told to go there. So true today, that sometimes God wants us to talk to someone maybe we despise. Like that part about the inference with Jesus at his low point. Jesus loves me this I know...

Just as God had to so some very pointed preaching to Jonah, He also has to preach to us in our times of not obeying His directions.

Amen! Yet better a rebuke from him than kisses from the Enemy!
