Hi Ralf. I like this poem because it proves how the liberal elements of our culture and politics have made words so meaningless. The more words are misused, the less meaningful and influential they are.

Robert

Glad you like it. There are a lot of words that they have misused and written, that have finally come to the fore.
    Thanks for the review.

Good day or is it evening Raffaelina Lowcock
I felt the power in your rhyming words of how you express your self with the proper words with and be sincere of what you mean and say. And yes make the listener or the one writing their thoughts, be pondered on.

I really like this! Words are truly a maker or breaker for the heater, and you put it so well in your poem. In life, I think there is a dividing line concerning words. Sometimes, we need to be firm and not allow people to abuse us. Deciphering words shows wisdom on our part.

Thank you, Drew. You have tapped into the core of the use of words. It is also the tone that makes the difference. I have written of that as well. Your review is appreciated.

Hello, Raffaelina,

Beautiful entry for the Rhyming Poem contest. Lovely presentation. Words are powerful... they can be used to build or to tear down. Once said it's hard to take them back. Well done my friend.

I completely agree with your sentiments. I can remember learning as a child - words hurt. You did a wonderful job with this poem. It is written with great insight and I leave you with two kind words: nicely written. Hugs, Lou

Oh, you are so very right, Ralf! ;) You've got good strong rhymes and I see that you've mixed your rhyme schemes as you move through your message. The OCD in me wants to shake her head, but I've seen it done a number of times over the past week, so I suppose that's a new 'author choice thing' - you go girl!! (wink, wink) :) :) Your second to last stanza, though, really seems a bit out of place as it has no end-rhyme scheme... I would suggest, perhaps, choosing one for it and re-writing...? Here's a suggestion (there's about a million ways I know you could do it, this just makes it meet your 'four line quatrain' pattern):

How many words have I released
That found an open heart?
And will I ever know if mine
have stirred someone to start?

Such a wonderful message to sing for this or any other morning! ;) Thanx for sharing, my lady, and you have a wonderful week ahead! ;) :) Yvette

Its way toward a heart --> Its way into a heart [suggestion only, please feel free to completely ignore!]

I love your review and if I had a nomination left it would be yours. I see what you are saying and I do like how refined your stanza is, but I have written with the intention of mixed rhyme and free verse. I believe I'll stick with it, but I will think about it. Thank you for your eagle eye and OCD!

Hi Ralf. Yes, I've found all of this to be true...especially this:

"The depth of meaning in your speech
Is capable of lengthy reach
To ply one's heart or even breach
A previous assumption."

Perfect. :) Bob

I enjoyed your exploration of the impact of words on others. You put it very poetically. I do believe you, and know that it is so. It isn't always the words themselves that are used - we may in fact forget the actual words we hear, but we will surely remember how they made us feel.

Yes, LisaMay, and I suppose the tone should be included. But, that's another poem. Thank you for this lovely review.

A very well-written heartfelt rhyming poem about the words we speak that can make someone weep or it can bring laughter or hope to another, depends on what we speak.

It is all in the words we use as to how we are remembered.
Thank you for your kind review. It is good to hear from other authors. Their opinion matters.

Interesting theme--food for thought. Words can cut both ways--indeed we should consider them carefully before running our mouths. That's why it's safer to write letters! Cheers. LIZ
