Dear Joyce, because you reviewed my poem, I wanted to read some of your works too. I'm reviewing this one, not because I like it anymore than the others that I have read, but I just wanted to let you know that I like your work very much; and would like to fan you, with your permission.

As for the merits of this poem, I wanted to compliment you on your courage and bold statements about this subject ! Hunger and homelessness have always been with mankind from the very beginning. Your desire to prick our conscience that we would be more grateful, by sharing some of our prosperity, is a noble one.

I am humble by your kind words. Of course, you can fan my work/poems and I will fan your poems also. I do not write as much as I would like too these days. Life keeps me, busy. I am kind of working on my 3rd book, plus I like to draw and paint. I do have a passion for those who are hungry. I think, we all can do more than we do. I know, I have been blessed by my Creator richly. Another passion of mine is the elderly. I call sixteen seniors every Monday (ages 74 years to 94 years) to check on them. I like poetry that shares a message and this certainly does that. An ongoing problem that unfortunately will remain that way. The rhythm seems a little off in places but still an enjoyable read.

I really like your idea of using poetry to promote a very worthy cause, which is feeding hungry children. It is hard sometimes to know which organization actually does a good job with it. However, I believe " feed the children" has maintained a good name. Thanks to you and every person or church that helps people in worthy causes. Bill

I love the message conveyed in this. You're absolutely right. We definitely have more than enough even in our current situation to help a hungry child. Those poor darlings should never have to be hungry. I see no excuse for the neglect. Thanks for sharing this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

I know this pandemic emptied the pantries for most of us, and our local food-banks are suffering, because people are unemployed and the help is not there anymore. "We are uncomfortable knowing we can do more.
Hunger is not understood by a child who is poor.
A child only understands my stomach is bare.
The time is now for people to care."

"Not a path they chose for their life...." This line really touched me, in depth. I think I was in that place, once. Yout poem here is very descriptive and hit heart in the heart, but for sure, sometimes we must be waken up, or remind us. It's great to read your work, Joy.
