Hi Jaybird! Two poems in one reading! I feel blessed. :)
I love and agree with this. We have to get those bitter roots out of our hearts and communities. And they grow deep, so we gotta dig.
Let's rid ourselves of hate again
and we may heal to great again.
So well done!
Your poem is inspiring. Unfortunately, racism has been with us for too many years. I hope this is a watershed moment. Your last two lines are
excellent: Let's rid ourselves of hate again and we may heal to great again.
Wonderful poem, which gets 6/stars because I can feel it. Bigotry of any sort infuriates me and breaks my heart at the same time. Right now racism is in the lead. I simply cannot stand the violence and have to turn off the TV. Listen to some Vietnam - era songs such as The Eve of Destruction and you'll realize nothing has changed except the voting age in the song and that we're actually going backwards.I love this poem.
Nice piece of poetry depicting and passing praiseworthy remarks about the present scenario going on in the US.
Spontaneous flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme.
2nd Stanza and the last two lines are particularly noteworthy.
Well said written and describe, dear Jay, told all through your life lived experience and suffering moments ! Who better than you could warn the new generation that racism take us only to disgregation? Good job!
There is no man more out of tune
than President Trump, orange buffoon.
His central goal is reelection
and yet he has a predilection--
cleave the common roots of man,
separate them all you can.
Blacks oppressed--it's fine with him...
keep Caucasians on a whim!
I agree my friend. Problem is nobody knows how to get the ball rolling correctly and with lasting result. And when you have evil leading the way it is practically impossible to make worthy gains. Fine poem my friend. : ) Bob
