I like this poem about time passing and may ourselves and others slowing down and stopping like the clock. The clock is a source of memory and a omen of life and death.
Congrats on being the recognized writer this month.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
I loved this sing song rhyme about not being ready to give up just quite yet.
As I endure the ravages of time I wonder about my own mortality and how long I'll last. I have SOOOOOOO much to do yet. I've even considered a bucket list to ensure I get it all done.
Your melancholy poem had humorous undertones and found a renewed optimism at the end. I like that.
I also laughed hard at the closer.
Indeed, it sounds like you've found a way to stop time LOL
I must try that.
Sixer for your efforts!
This is a very clever and creative poem that is thoroughly entertaining. I think that an elegant picture of a grandfather clock would improve the presentation, but the poem is wonderful anyways. Have a wonderful night.
The old grandfather clock connects you back through time in this piece, like an old family friend. A familiar face looking over your shoulder. I loved the touch of humor, especially at the end, when you forget to wind the clock because of the cup of coffee. estory
Excellent use of personification. A clock is the perfect instrument to portray this hand-me-down through generations. (I have a Birdseye Maple dresser, but that wouldn't do)
I've many sips within my cup-a great line.
Humorous effort to stop the march of time.
