You may indeed write for me, Jaybird. Two, if you please. I do so enjoy reading your poems; I never get tired of reading them. You have so much talent and it seems to be an easy feat for you.
I have only one suggestion for edit...to remove the first "for" in the first line. It is, otherwise, flawless.
Yes, writing is a free gift and inspirational for both reader and writer. "Will set alive life's inner fire" is a great line, it describes exactly what poetry is meant to do.
I'll give you my last six stars, as I like your poem. Writing will end when my life on earth has departed into heaven, too. Writing is no game but some people will try to make it into a game. Thank you for clarifying that in your poem.
Hi Jay, and that is so true. The joy of creating and to know that somebody will actually read it is the greatest reward. Yes, I am aware, you will be writing to the very last. I love that thought. All best, Ulla:)))
"Writing, the art of communicating thoughts to the mind through the eye, is the greatest invention of the world...enabling us to converse with the dead, the absent, and the unborn, at all distances of time and space." Attributed to Abraham Lincoln
Yes, Jaybird. Write on!
A very well-written uplifting poem. It is a pleasure to read uplifting poems in this time of uncertainty and all the troubles going on in the world. We do not need depressing stories of the past to get us more depressed.
You have won my.heart once again with this charming sonnet. It is a lovely expression of your joy and generosity as you do what we all love to do. Write on, Jaybird, poet of the month!
-Yes, you may write for me, jaybird.
-That is a great title, and
I agree with you about writing, too.
-You have written a very good poem
with many good ideas and images.
-I like how you contrast material
things as opposed to lying
"awake at night,
with pen and paper, then I write."
-Your writing does inspire and
adds so much to us on FS.
-Take care and be well.
I like this very much, Jay. No corrections.
Here's what really struck my chord:
You see, I lie awake at night,
with pen and paper, then I write.
Yep, my brain thinks that when I lay down, I"m supposed to compose dialogue in my head! lol
Be blessed in the knowledge you ARE an inspiration to us all in many ways.
