Your rhyme and rhythm is delightful. The tell is true of our modern day life, and the friendless feeling rings true too me, as I am older as well.
As a music lover; I prefer poems that sing as this one did.
I very much enjoyed reading it, love your style, and will be eagerly reading more of your works as a fan.
We hold common thread in the style of poem we like, and write; as well the mountains of the Appalachia, as I stem from western Virginia.
I am very pleased to meet you.
Until our next visit, I wish you well.
Beautifully penned and completely right and true. Young don't come very often home as we did. They comunicate only with their tablets, computers, and other develish machines. At table they talk about video games at a very young age. Adults are often out of their games so you fall everywhere in the bliss of solitude and live in another past world of yours. Great job Jay and truly told! I love it!
Your poem is beautifully written, informative to those who don't know how the elderly feel and inspiring. I enjoyed reading your meaningful poem. It was well received and it touched my heart, because I feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your feelings. Best wishes!
The joys of aging and the thrills of being young. There's something to be said about both. I loved my teens and twenties but I also really love being in my 40's and having more knowledge and maturity. Your writing makes me think. That's a sign of great writer. Thanks for your words of wisdom.
I'm with you Jaybird, I like a poems to go
But then I am a dancer and a tap dancer at that so rhythm is in my blood. I loved your poem, some of them I just don't get, I do a lot of passing. So look me up sometime.
I always try and make as much time for my grandparents as possible. I find it a shame that more people of my generation don't tend to share the same feelings. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.
You have nicely captured how the current generation is living their lives virtually, ignoring the close bonds with their parents/grandparents. They will eventually feel the same sadness when they grow old
It's really a shame that young people don't realize what a treasure their grandparents are. So much information and so much wisdom can be learned. Well, as you say, eventually they'll be old too. Very nice written. Hugs, Lou
This is a beautiful piece of poetry dear jaybird! Indeed, the generation gap should be understood as respect to the elderly as their knowledge is unforgetable.
Thank you for sharing!
Blessings and a larger than life hug!
