You have shared your experience about generation gap, everything changes, and time passes, attitude, state and status of living has been changing; well said, well done; I do not find the line is expressive: Their time is coming, wait and see. And there is one typo: they're to (too) busy at some mall. Thank you for sharing this. ALCREATOR
This was a very sweet poem. I'm sorry if you feel this way. My grandfather is in another country and I miss him everyday. People always take things and others for granted and don't realize how important these things or people are. Please know that you have friends on this website.
Thank you for sharing this poem!
How inconsiderate of your grandkids. I enjoyed your poem although it is poignant. It gets right to the truth. I'm glad you are sharing on FS as I know many enjoy reading your well-rhymed, informational poems, and thinking about what you write in their own lives. Keep sharing.
You are so right about the tech in the lives of the young ones these days, Jaybird. I have watched their attention spans and their need for 'physical companionship' dwindle over the years because of that technology... sigh. Wish you were near here and I pass by with some fresh cookies - your choice!
A wonderful collection of quatrains, sir, that is truly a message to which many can relate...
Technology has been both a blessing and a curse. It does not help families communicate - but we can reach someone on Mars! I fully understand where you're coming from. There is so much they can learn from us older ones, but young ones are mostly interesed in the here and now - not in anything from the past. Little do they know, our past often shapes our future.
