I pray you are doing well. This is a beautiful Sonnet form-aka Robert Frost poem. I always loved Robert Frost poem, " A Road Most Taken." This is a beautiful poem of the road you have taken. We all have to travel our journey in life. I really enjoyed your poem. Beautifully written with so much compassion. Nicely done. I always love how you make your words rhyme. Take care and happy future writing:-)
Another of your unique iambic tetrameter sonnets. Well done. I like the allusion to "the road less taken." Your poem is very different from Frost's, but the connection is clear, and the contrast between the two is so interesting. Well done.
Jaybird: my sentiments, exactly! I'll be 72 this month. My mind wanders around my past years and lands on so many memories. Some are good, some are bad, some are mistakes made and some are achievements. It has been a long road, indeed, but zoomed by way too quickly. Keep safe. Linda
Beautiful reflection on the path you've taken...I can certainly see the general theme of "The Road Not Taken" interspersed here. In the end all we can hope is we've kept moving, walked the good walk, and pleased our God along the way.--Karenina
The issue of people and time is complicated. Young people want time to hurry up so their dreams can be realized. Finally, time is drawing to an end and people reflect on missed opportunities of the hurried past. Your poem is like all your other poems--well-written, deeply meaningful, and touching.
This is a very lovely write. My favorite lines are; This life is short, though it is grand-
Seek in your search that promised land. It says to me considering the rest of the poem we should not forget our spirituality.
Looking at your profile you are 95, or soon will be, and so I assume this is biographical considering what you wrote. I hope if I reach your age, that I'll have it together like you.
