I do enjoy your poetry, Bill. We seem to have the same drummer when it comes to feeling the beat, or meter.
Being an octogenarian myself I can relate to your messages.
Most of my friends and family have passed. Thank God I still have my children and brother. God Bless you. Nancy:)

This is a beautiful poem and is so masterfully written. I think that your rhymes and meter are wonderfully done. Everything falls right into place. I like that your poem is so personal and emotional. Well done. Hugs! -January L. :)

-Robert Frost is my
favorite poet, jaybird.
-This and many others
are wonderful poems.
-You did a good job with
the style of your poem.
-I particularly like the flow
of the line "with things I did,
with things I said."
-I also like the line about regrets,
as well as the closing couplet.
-I think Frost would be
very pleased with your poem.

It's a nice poem which talks about the roads/paths we chosen in the life as well as the ones long gone. This flows really well. Excellent rhyming as well. I enjoyed reading this.

Jaybird,
You know how to use words, deftly and wisely to make beautiful music in poetry. I love this poem! I too want to be a person with few regrets.. my life is just starting in some ways. I have awakened the writer in me. Fanstory brought out my writing talents, though I have a long way to go.
Have a wonderful weekend!
God bless,
Cindy

A lovely poem about the roads we travel in life, and many of them are "long gone". Nice descriptive imagery and steady use of rhyme, meter and cadence. Excellent visuals.

This road I've traveled ever long,
with many others, now long gone.

A very well written poem.

Like so many of us, I too am a fan of Robert Frosts' poetry.

This is a finely rhymed and metred metaphor for life as a road and even when a loved one has passed before us, there is still much to look forward to in this life and beyond.

Thank you so much always friend, Jay for sharing your poetics. :)

Gloria

When you've already lost your true love and there's no one to hold your hand, can get pretty lonely. Then, it feels like you're living day by day just waiting for when it is your time to go. One day at a time!

I know the road I've taken in my past has not yielded much, but the road I now walk is more certain, and has a reward at the end, one must be certain of their goal and hope. Beautifully written my friend, an excellent poem, and brilliantly crafted, well done, blessings. Roy
