The strength of this piece is its pure honesty and sincerity. Each piece you write gives me a sense of downhomeness and yet, clever in its word choices. Your ability to keep trying to face a better day and a kinder life exude with this poem. The flow, the meter, and the rhymes are all steady and heartwarming. You exhibit wisdom from your advanced age and I am glad to be privy to bathe in it. As you ask to "let peace surround me" I hope that it comes true for you, as well as for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem.
This is such a relatable posting for many FanStory members. I, too, am in my Golden Years and sometimes it feels like a lot of things are getting tarnished. However, the hope in my heart transcends all earthly woes and I am definitely looking forward to the promised world to come with a smile. Please stay safe and well during these trying days!
I think this is a nicely written poem. It's not fancy but it tells a story, and with rhythm (I am partial to rhyming poetry).
One of my favorite reasons to write is so that others might enjoy and relate to my work; and you have written something here that is very relatable for many!
Excellent poem friend, Jay about just keeping on marching even though you are the last one still standing. That is the hardest place of all to be, so thank goodness you can still write such marvelous poetry that we love to read.
Many thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. :)
