Good writing here, Jim. Good message too. Every part of the beet is good for us. I like them roasted in the oven or on the grill. The artist will appreciate your vote of confidence in the beneficial properties of the beet. Best to you. Marilyn

I'm sure that is all true and you put it very eloquently...but I hate the way they taste! Corn and peas are my thing. To each his own I guess. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jim. You certainly picked a good veggie to write about in this poem. I love beets. All sorts of beets, Harvard beets, pickled, boiled or sliced in butter. LOL Now you have reminded me I have to find some at the Farmer's market Saturday. Good posting, my friend. Bob

This poem, Rooted in Dirt, expounds on the "eatable"ness of those scarlet bulbs which fall right on the line between loved and ehh. I always thought that beets were made red in processing, but no.

A very well-written poem inspired by the picture this club and the painting of the beets that bring good memories about eating thus versatile vegetable with nutrients that can help the body to heal itself.

You have it. Lots of potassium in these guys. I love beets. You cover the goodness that's in them. I have a feeling folks aren't aware of just how much nutrients are in them. Good presentation.

Beets! Beets! Yeh, they're healthy for you! The taste1 could be better! But they do have a lot of nourishment and good for the heart, as you say. Your poem puts it all out there!

What a lovely painting and lovely poem about beets. I love to eat beets, too and enjoy every part also. I didn't know it comes from smallest seeds.

Well done.

I do enjoy beets - the fact that they are such a healthy food is a bonus. Roasting them keeps the sweetness. But I'll eat them cooked any old way. Your nonet was a great format for the challenge. Well done.

I enjoyed your club challenge poem. I like the way you expressed the positive aspects of beets. Your flow of lines is great as is your rhyme scheme.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
