I wondered where the idea of green jealousy originated and I found it goes back to Shakespear's Othello, Act III scene 3 : O, beware, my lord, of jealousy; it is the green-eye...and again in The Merchant of Venice. Funny how we've used the metaphor since then. It is something we need to beware. It can make everyone involved very unhappy. This is a good topic.

Thank you, Liz! Shows how far back it goes as a recognized monster of a problem. Thank you for this review and notes!

I like how your limerick-styled poem about jealousy takes us to how jealousy is hidden deep inside. One doesn't necessary see it on the surface and your last line speaks to me of how the jealous person blames the other for the pain that jealousy caused him/her. Best wishes in the contest!

This is the second entry to this Jealously contest I am reading tonight. Yours is very creative, with great descriptive imagery and visuals - and I just love your artistic presentation and the color green that has always been associated with the word jealousy.

Well hidden in hearts that are green
One won't know it's there 'til it's seen

You really nailed the word. I wish you luck in that contest.

Totally agree that jealousy can start small and go so big that it can be exploded into bomb to hurt people. I love the paining, too. Jealousy is green which makes sense and it lives in the dark with a narrow vision.

Well done.

This jealousy poem, Zealously, touches on the feeling and reminds the reader that no one is immune. It starts slow and builds to the point of a bad action.

What truth is in this little poem. If what you wrote is taken to heart--know jealously when you see it, people might find more satisfaction in their life. Best of luck in the contest!

Thank you for the nice review. That's a deep thought you suggested. It would be better if we could see it for what it is, in our lives or others! What if we turned green we got jealous, lol?
    Thanks again for reading!
