very well written and gives a soothing effect to readers , especially to the poets. Your poem fairly describes the ignorance of appreciation of work done by a poet . Your art of work motivates every poet to keep writing regardless of what other people think of a poet's job.
thankyou for sharing such an amazing work of yours.
Hi Jay, I couldn't agree with you more. The game as you like to call it as to express yourself through the written word beats everything else. It's been my best friend through these strange times we're living. I loved your poem. Ulla:)))
"Now, after all is said and done-
His game is tough, my game is fun."
Yes, Jay, you are completely right about people's wrong opinion about, poets, writers and many other things that only ignorant people will answer in such dispregiative way! As usual your Shakespearean sonnet is well described, set structurally and fitted within its thematic narrative contest of survival during this pandemic period and what better than having fun with discovery new words and applying them to poetical different devices?
My favorite part was, "Now, after all is said and done-
His game is tough, my game is fun.", because you kept a positive perspective and didn't worry about his opinion!
The Lord led me to this verse after I read this,
New International Version
10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
I love that you treat poetry like a game of sports. I like that you had a million opponents. I like that you think your game is fun. I agree very much. Writing is never a chore or work for me. It is pure pleasure.
Having fun is what the world should see, Jay. Yet, when facing words that will make one smile we face difficulties "and many times need some support." It helps to have the love within us to care about those that read our writings. We face many opponents with our words that try to degrade our love. Thank you port. :)
