Ralf,

Isn't that crazy?! Sometimes you just have to wonder about things. I can't imagine how much comfort that pup brought to your life for the time you had him. There's nothing much like the love of a dog, is there?

So sweet. Thank you for sharing! Good luck in the voting!

What a sweet, but poignant, poem, Ralf. Your words flow smoothly with good rhymes and vivid imagery. The image is super. I could see this dog as I read your poem. There's something special about giving a dog a new home/second chance. How ironic that your beautiful dog had the same issue as your dad. I know the time he was with you was awesome for him as it was for you, too.
Respectfully, Jan

Aw such a sad poem and such a fine looking pup.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of your father and then later your do. Kidney disease is a horrid thing.

Always a pleasure to read your fine work, Ralf.

Gloria

Wow, two losses and from the same illness. The sadness wrapped around you is a clear picture of what you were going through with the loss of your father. Nice poem. Veenbee

In my opinion, a captivating write in its parallel circumstance - a bit uneven in rhyming rhythm in a couple of spots, but emotionally rendered and artfully expressed...

This Whiskers Writing Challenge poem, The Eyes Have It, follows your dad's passing to this cool dog and then to another death. Your being able to pull it together as a second chance is a great twist.

I think this is a good entry for the WhiskersWritingChallenge2020 writing prompt.
This well penned verse tells a clear and somewhat sad story.
Well done.

An excellent poem for the prompt challenge. You did a great job of relating your father's death and the dog. The rhyme and rhythm were perfect for this piece. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest. ~Brenda
