So, learned another word in this well crafted poem about pigeons. Strong alliteration, especially in the first line. Maybe this p o email will help bring your choice for obscure word to fruition

Excellent alliteration as you educate us on a seldom used word.
The meter flows so naturally.
You create a vivid picture of downtown as the pigeons are on guard.

Great selection of the picture to go with your work. Those birds look like they are lined up for a military parade and ready to report what they have observed while on duty. I know it's due to the railing, but they look ready for review by an officer.

Good poem and wording, expressing that downtown is full of things that only appears when we see upwards! Unfortunately, we look down or only to our screens and forget about simple things that are still there, waiting for our free view. Nice picture and explanation of that difficult word. Thanks for sharing your poetry.

Very eye-appealing contest entry (font, italics, color scheme).
Perfectly chosen photograph; however, without the photograph, my simple mind would not have known the definition of 'peristeronic' merely by reading the poem. Even so, I still believe this to be a great contest entry. Very best wishes!

LOL! This is a delightful form and your author notes made me laugh, too!
Nope, even 2-4-2 is an invitation for 'dirty minds'! ;)

I love the surreal mood you create...a real Matrix type feeling..complete with a lovely alliterative city description and the sense of being watched.

Inventive and entertaining!

Thank you for sharing!

I love this. It's very well written with so few words. It left me feel something I can't quite put my finger on, which I like! Great job and have a great day!

Good morning to you, Yvette

If anyone knows about pidgeons, it's us here in the UK... I love them :)

An interesting word you have chosen to write about here. One which I must say I had never heard of before.

bridges, buildings, and by-ways:
peristeronic observations
prove ever-fruitful downtown-- they most certainly do for the many pidgeons here in LOndon.

They have survived well, thanks to their wide and varied diets which, fortunately for both them and us, relieve us of all the crap we leave lying around.

We moan about these creatures that rummage through our left overs, but I dare say the world would be a wretched place with them and their kind.

Another fine write and I wish you the best of luck in the booths

kind regards

tracey

They are some of the most entertaining birds, aren't they? We have their cousins the mourning doves around here and they're quite fun, too! ;) Thanx so much for the lovely review, Tracey, and have a great day!! ;) Yvette

The pigeon, in my opinion, is a badly maligned bird-- I happen to love them, and the ones I feed recognize me. I am more offended by the raccoon poop that ends up on my part of the fire escape than a little pigeon poop. However, the fire escape is slots of metal, and that means their poop mostly falls through. (Thankfully, because it is full of bacteria. lol)

(Sorry -- couldn't resist. I have a poem about pigeons I still love; two in fact...)

"The pigeon is one of only 6 species, and the only non-mammal, to have this ability. Pigeons are highly intelligent and can recognise all 26 letters of the alphabet as well as being able to conceptualise. Pigeons can differentiate between photographs and even two different human beings in a single photograph."

I LOVE this word. I'll add it to my vocabulary with great pleasure. Excellent poem!

What a marvellous word that you've produced here, it's a word I have quite literally never heard. The entries in this contest have been tough to separate, but this is as good as any. Well done, good luck, blessings Roy

I enjoyed this writing and your use of the obscure
Word because it paints both the city and its bird observers
Good luck in the contest
