Your Chime Operandi is a lovely treatise to The Western Pigmy Blue Butterfly. It does sound as if it is very small and your art shows the beauty of its colouring. I am fascinated by butterflies. I think they are so mysterious.

This is a darling poem to go with such a pretty butterfly. It has an easy glow to the language. Favorite line: this velvet queen will flirt with kings.

When it comes to beauty, size does not matter. This butterfly with its brilliant colors is gorgeous! Glad you included this tiny little gem in your collection!

This is a delightful poem, Dolly. The imagery is regal and pays fine tribute to the majesty of this velvet queen. It reads out loud like a charm and your Chime Operandi and painting is wonderful.

Always a pleasure.

You've packed this poem with artistry and philosophy in a most poetic manner. You have such a mastery of poetic forms - this chime operandi is very skilfully crafted.

What a spectacular butterfly that I have never seen in the field in California! I relished your choice of the Chime Operandi form with its internal and end rhymes and shape, especially when centered. Your "velvet queen" imagery is perfect. We are so fortunate that you share both your paintings and poetry with us. Many thanks- Joan

You are so skillful at drawing and painting butterflies! And your poem shows us how nature pays no regard to status of kings but shares her beauty "while it lasts."

I wish you had entered this into the rhyming poetry contest!
It's such a delightfully rhythmic rhyming piece! It certainly chimes and the imagery is so lovely!
I adore how much poetic devices you packed into this - even more inner rhymes than your form requires! Rather admirable!

You describe the heavenly beauty of the butterfly with strong words:
"A royal flutter graces space,
I trace her sapphire gold;"
Then, I love the humor in describing your hasty attempt:
"and in my bold attempt to chase,
my legs, they almost fold!'
LOL!
However, you don't stop at the esthetic value:
You add a lovely personality to her:
"this velvet queen
will flirt with kings,"

And a philosophical layer as a strong closing line:
"she clings to beauty while it lasts."

Lovely and wonderfully composed!
