Love this. Being an aging romantic, it really touched me. "Intimacy's truth" wow. The last line leaves worlds yet to be discovered even when older.
Excellent poem.

If I could write my book of how my later days would be...a cabin, rockers, silent sweetness...ah. Almost makes the golden years ---well, GOLDEN! Thanks!--Karenina

What poet said "Grow old with me, the best is yet to come?" I just asked "Mr. Google" (as my six year old grandson calls it...and I slightly mangled the quote but for our joint enjoyment here it is in its entirety: --"?Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made. Our times are in his hand who saith, 'A whole I planned, youth shows but half; Trust God: See all, nor be afraid!?
― Robert Browning
Yes! Let it be like that!--Karenina

Grandkids make growing old ALMOST worth it! "doodle"---that is SO cute! When my kiddos were young my daughter said "hopsital" for hospital and my son said Basketti for spaghetti. Their 39 and 41 and I still tease them about it!--K
