This wrapped refrain, Farmers' Favorites, has doesn't follow the wrapped refrain formatting, though the general poem is entertaining and well written.

Today was Thanksgiving Day in Canada and I did indeed have some pumpkin pie. Not the whole thing, but darn close.

Love the vintage tractor and farm display of pumpkins. They are beautiful gourds I think although I've never seen white pumpkins before.

Excellent theme poem and a fine read today.

Thanks for sharing, J. :)

Your poem is full of the joy of the fests of autumn and especially lots of enthusiasm for the season of apple and pumpkin pies. Good job with your wrapped refrain!

"The field was flushed with pumpkings..." a very nice poem that entices the reader to continue on...The scene of the yellow pumpkins paints a picture of gaiety and camaraderie.

Very well written poem giving your reader a wonderful image of the fall pumpkins and the celebration of Thanksgiving. Your reader can almost smell the aroma of pies and cinnamon.
I enjoyed the read and thank you.

Mary

I enjoyed your club challenge. You captured Fall well. Your words flow smoothly with good rhymes, The image is a great pairing, too.

May I suggest:

Your first verse should end with 'the field was flush.'
The second verse should end with 'Fall pies are (apple--too many syllables--you need 4.)

IF you revise, then your rhyme scheme will be affected. Therefore, you could label this Modified Wrapped Refrain. It still is a fun and truthful read.
Respectfully, Jan

I too relish pumpkin pie and the fruits of fall. I enjoyed your rhymes and repeats in your Wrapped Refrain and the photograph you selected to salute farmers and fall. Cheers- Joan

A very well-written wrapped refrain about all the pies that can be eaten over this period it truly seems to be the best part of any feast.

A beautifully written wrapped refrain Jim. The narrative made my mouth water with all the deliciousness of the wares of autumn that the gastronomic imagery brings. Beautifully written, the refrain is well written with good rhyming and...delicious, well done, blessings Roy
