Halloween by Patricia Crandall

Creepy poem presenting many scary images that conjure up a truly haunting Halloween setting. The short, crisp lines with the black background are perfect for the theme. I enjoyed reading this work.

Beautiful poem, beautifully presented. Love the last line which adds a poignant and bittersweet touch to the moonlight's call to draw the poet to walk down memory lane. Indeed, some memories can easily bring on a sleepless night. Good luck in the contest.

Man of Stone by RoostyNester

I really like this refreshingly different poem. At first it sounded a bit scary, but as the poem moved along I imagined a nice setting at a private party where all the guests were nice. You developed this scenario nicely with different attempts (that we females know so well) to get male attention. The ending is such a disappointment and yet makes me considet how some of the men I've known might as well have been made of stone. Thanks for sharing and for using my artwork to illustrate.

Mysterious Lovers of the Dream... by Tomas J Giron

A complex and thought provoking poem of which each line is a world of contemplation in itself. It's a foray into the imagination of the mind which knows no boundaries. I like the weaving in of real things like pine cones because all abstract thought is a bit unnerving and I lose concentration. The underlying dark message of the phantom undercutting the raptures and delights of love is very true to life. An awesome work and your mastery of words and phrases is obvious. Thank you for sharing.

Love the poem, love the artist notes. The poem is richly woven with the gratitude of one woman with the words of Scripture. It flows beautifully and each line is a blessing in itself. Truly, writing like this is on a higher plane and inspired by higher things. I read your poem this Sunday morning and it enhances the Sabbath for me. Thank you so much for sharing and I love the way you presented it with the image and colors.

This poem is a blessing in itself. The lines flow so smoothly and the rhyming is lovely and not forced while the thoughts expressed are original in many ways. It shows a spirit of gratitude and an acceptance of life as a journey of love and how to nurture it. Very nice to read and think about. The long words fit nicely and don't stick out like a sore thumb, but work into the poem in a natural way. Thank you for using my artwork to illustrate.

Oh, that's a funny one. Those few syllables pack a lot of stuff into it. Make me think of the John Wayne movies and can hardly imagine him looking frightened, nor his horse being scared! Funny image for sure. The last line reminds me of some old time comedians that would use the word 'mess' - like "What a mess you've got us into, Ollie" and such. Like the way you presented it with the colors and thanks for using my drawing to illustrate. Good luck in the contest.

This poem is so beautiful and spiritual. Every line flows smoothly and leads to the next thought. Thank you for this wonderful psalm. The picture shows my son who became born again before he was called home. I think of him when I read your poem. Good luck in the contest.

Never You Fear by sandramitchell

A sweet lullaby reminiscent of the classic ones of Mother Goose and other traditional lullabyes. Love the idea of a mother squirrel singing it. They are such cute and seemingly harmless creatures and it seems quite natural that their tender love is that indeed. The poem flows really well and the word choices are harmonious and fit the subject very well. Nice presentation, too. Good luck in the contest.

Fly free by Hayley Solomon

What a lot of glorious visions and songs these four lines conjure in my mind. The use of w's helps to make it flow without the complication of more letters which seems to lead to analizing and effort in my thought processes. The wind - what a wonderful natural guide to living. Fly free - birds, winds, whispers - free creatures and forces that go with the flow of nature - can they be wrong? Very nice and poetic work. Thanks for using my artwork to illustrate.
