Such a gentle, sad and poignant poem. Lots of emotion and heartache missing the loved one. I especially loved the last line the best. Nicely done and good luck with the contest!

Fantastic story. I was totally gripped by this story from beginning to end. Great descriptions and characters! You did so well working within the restraints of the acrostic alphabet format. Bravo with the letter X, too! I am in awe! Well done!

Perfect Roses by Dolly'sPoems

Wonderful little poem packed into the short word count, Dolly. You did it again! Roses are always the answer to lift someone's spirits with their soft velvety petals, rich colour and scent. Love that pretty illustration with the retro vibe, too. I love patterns like these.

What a beautiful poignant poem with so much lovely imagery and such a tone of melancholy but in a good way. I find it hard to write a non rhyming poem but you do it so well and the words tumble out in a lovely bouncing rhythm that reads beautifully. Nicely done!

Haha! Love this little poem. So clever and creative! I am also a redhead so could relate to it on that level, too. Watch out! We are hot stuff, eh, Rachel? Wonderful!

What a fascinating poem about this intriguing woman, Dolly.

You did a great job telling the story of her in poetry form with great rhyming and rhythm.

I am in awe of your creativity and output. You really can whip out those poems! Good going!

Such a funny and cute poem from the perspective of this anole which is a new word for me. Loved it!

The poem flowed well with a nice bouncy rhythm and rhyme and loved the funny character of the anole telling the woes of shedding skin. Who knew? I sure didn't.

I also enjoyed the notes that accompanied the poem telling about the habits of the anoles during their shedding time. Fascinating. Well done!

My goodness! What a packrat this guy is! So much junk! Amazing!

Great poem describing his daily routine and I like the line about it being no more than an old age perk. Isn't it true that we accumulate so much over time? Hard to handle all our clutter that builds up. Looks like this guy doesn't care and embraces his clutter.

Sanctuary by Dolly'sPoems

How lovely, Dolly! I agree! Such a peaceful and comforting poem with your well chosen words.

A sanctuary can be anywhere if we are comfortable and alone, able to just be in the moment, enjoying our own company. A real oasis is right! I love my oasis here at home beside the front window looking out at birdies and furry friends while keeping a watchful eye on my computer, too.

Buying Cars by Dolly'sPoems

Great theme of this poem in today's disposable society where we cast aside the old and always want something new. Things just aren't built to last at all anymore which is bad for the planet and our wallets. Too bad we can't adopt more of Henry Ford's philosophy thinking that the Model T was all you'd need for a lifetime. At least there is the minimalist movement and Marie Kondo! We need to slow down with all this consuming and be happy with what we have and repair it when it breaks instead of always replacing it.
