I enjoyed reading this story and there are so many wonderful messages here. Never giving up and focusing on what is important in life. Her story also shows one can over come adversity and more forwards. Being burned is so horrible yet this young lady was able to help others and move forward with her life. Excellent writing and a good story for young readers.

This is a haunting poem that makes me imagine ghosts of veterans marching in all parades throughout the world. I like here how you include the horses as well. Excellent rhyming of words that creates a clear scene of this march and evokes feelings and emotions.
