Chapter Veintisiete, (27) Part Uno by barbara.wilkey
Chapter 92 of the book Texas Dream Catcher

Exceptional

Hi Barbara,

I see the thot plickens on this land deal ... I'm guessing there is something questionable about the missing acerage, like perhaps a rival land gift by the Mexican government. The note on the Commanche chief's name raised a smile as it shows the perhaps earthy humour the tribes enjoyed. Terry Pratchett picked this up in some of his stories, with a Indian 'spirit guide' named Two Man Bucket and his twin brother named Two Dogs ... Which he would have given anything to have ended in 'Fighting' ...

Hi Barbara,

I can't wait for the revelation of the chief's real name ...

Every family has its skeletons in the cupboard, but it seems that Gunther must have been a bit of a real character. Those old river boats were fascinating and the river a tricky place in itself. A few years ago I visited Louisville, KY, and wanted to look round the Louisville Belle, but wasn't allowed to, apparently on orders of the Coastguard on security grounds.

Hi Barbara,

I was right, she should have checked on title a long time back, now it looks as if it's going to get rather complicated ... And she's still got the drug and people trafficking gang to worry about.

Never To You - part two by Cumbrianlass
Chapter 32 of the book If Wishes were Birds

Exceptional

Hi Cumbrianlass,

The makings of a good tale here in your favourite period I think. Dropping into the story like this without the background of the earlier chapters, makes picking up the tale tricky, but it reads easily and the atmosphere you create around Lora is very good.

Hi Charlie,

Still developing this story I see and adding ever more twists and details to the plot. Nicely done, it seems to be coming along nicely.

No Atheists in Foxholes by Dean Kuch

Hi Dean

I think atheism is a luxury reserved for those who have never been in harms way, or present at a death ... There's something about being in the presence of death that mkaes one consider one's faith very carefully.

Hi Cumbrianlass,

I have to confess the ending of this had me laughing. If the desert isle is that comfortable, who'd want to be rescued? Mind you, if it was that good, someone would probably be trying to buy it to build a 'resort' ...

Hi Barbara,

Sounds like something she should have done a long, long time ago. Good hook to the next chapter though, leaving it hanging like that. Now I'd bet there's something in those deeds that allows one of the cartel people to lay claim ...

Hi Barbara,

What new surprise have you got lined up for your readers? Soni has a bad feeling? Not good. Plus, I have feeling she should have read the deed a long time back ...

Westward Ho! Part Three by c_lucas
Chapter 11 of the book VIOLENT REUNION

Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Hi Charlie,

I see you're reworking this tale and developing it. Nicely done, it has some amusing touches to it, though what St Brigid, the lady Abbess (and posibbly Bishop) would say to her involvement I can only guess.

One correction -

attention to Phillip. "What going on in here? Six ... "What's going ...
