First of all, congratulations on your winning the contest. There is so much emotion in these few words. Reading them was like being stabbed in the heart. Feelings of abandonment often last a lifetime. joan marie

What a combination of words to use. But you did a great job with them. I get the fire and can't stop sometimes. My neighbors ask me if I was all right last night because my lights kept going on and off. Great write. joan marie

It didn't even need the artwork. Your language choices painted a terrific image in my head. Could picture Bill playing the crowd. joan marie

The artwork really worked well for this haiku. Great presentation, color, font, etc. I never understood why people put themselves in that position. Good luck, joan marie

I feel you. I just lost where I have been living for eighteen years. I have to live off $16 of food stamps. I can barely pay the bills. But I tried so hard to help someone and they didn't want it. Life isn't fair, we have to make do with what we are dealt. joan marie

Well, you certainly nailed this contest. If only it were true for all of us. After many years I now believe I have found my home. Good luck, joan marie

I am trying so hard to reach that point. You inspire me to try harder. Your burdens are so heavy, yet you never complain. I will only be posting here twice more. But I will continue to read your work. joan marie

What a great thing you have done. Alvin has many burdens to carry. He and I share a birth date. He's belief is very strong and has helped me weather a few storms. joan marie

Does money make a good parent? by Adam J Santos

Writing always helps me when I am frustrated about things, especially those we can do nothing about. My divorced parents make up for their guilt by sending me money. That way they don't have to see me. Great writing, joan marie
