Summer 1928 (Part One) by Margaret Snowdon
Chapter 23 of the book In The Shadow of Love

Wonderfully descriptive and engaging.

You so effortlessly desecribe both people and their environments.

Your work always comes to life and starts a movie in my head. I can see, hear, and feel everything that you describe.

It is good to come back after an abscense and see that you are still posting wonderful tales.

Hi Sasha,

Have not stopped by in quite some time, so I was pleased to see that you are alive and well and up to posting your charming rambles.

Love the detail in this one. I always learn something when I read you. Good to know that you have to wash your own hair before heading into a Mexican salon.

Hugs,

Lovely.

Love how the roughness of the rocks and the harshness of the pounding surf contrasts with the whispers of the wind mirroring the rawness of the missing and the gentle peace of feeling the beloved's presence.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

It spoke to me of our current political primaries.

A circus, indeed.

Only not nearly as entertaining.

Love your spring write, old friend.

Great use of a difficult form.

Reminds me that I need to buy some daffodils on the way home.

It is good to be reading you again.

And, it is hard to look at the ratings and not see Brooke at the top.

The last stanza really hits home.

He was here and then ... Gone.

No chance for anyone to say goodbye or to tell him how much we all valued his comic genius.

Well said.
