Alice, Rick and Officer Scott by Jay Squires

Exceptional

Jay, This is an exceptional work portraying the harsh reality that happens all to often. The dialogue is heart rendering, touching the heart and soul of the reader. This brought tears to the eyes of this great great grandmother [and, I do not cry easily.]

Good strong lyrics! Depicting a young man's craving for sexual knowledge best left unexplored by an older woman. [Yep, I'm an ancient old foggie with great great grandchildren] That said the lyric is excellent. Have not looked at the music. What genre?

Poetic Stream by Warren Rodgers

Warren, the flow is smooth, the imagery captures the loss of a loved one; and the words found in verse soothed the agony. "But soon I heard the rippling of a stream,
Along it's banks I shed the deep dismay" really touched my soul; perhaps because echo of water brings serenity to mind.
Thanks for sharing.

Anyone who has ever sat alone, truly alone, in a bar or coffee shop knows the very descriptive emotion portrayed in your very well written poem. Perhaps we can never know what is in their thoughts, but we as humans will ponder the thought. The sadness reaches out to touch one as they read the lines from the start to the end.

The sadness radiates yet the beauty of the outside world comes clear although the drabness of blue haunts his soul within and without. The imagery takes one inside the world of blue yet offers a ray of hope in the memory of the outside. Very well done.

The chapter's flow is very good, the imagery puts one in Jasper, Wyoming in the time period. The cast of characters introduced brings to mind questions of how their parts will play out....creating intrigue. A thief, a robbery, and a killing. Look forward to the development of the plot. Good work.

There is so much packed into so few lines. The rhyme and meter enhances the theme. It reads very smooth, no hesitations. Good job.
