Rich man poor man. by jenintorre

For creativity, you get a six, but there are two areas I believe you should look at, ESPECIALLY when the contest is being judged by committee. Keep in mind the committee is composed of highly ranked writers who will decide based on both technical and creative qualities of all submissions.

Always try to avoid passive language, verbs that do nothing to move the story along. You used WAS/WERE four times--almost 10% of total word count. This will stand out to the panel right away. EXAMPLE--were yielding high rents..Could be--yielded high rental income.

Punctuation needs to be spot on. The sentence beginning Paul however.... should be a new paragraph. Also needs commas. SB... Paul, however,... Monopoly is a brand name and therefore should be capitalized.

Many people forget about the twist at the end of flash fiction. Yours definitely showed great creativity and completely fooled me.

Do try to edit as this story shows great potential for hitting the winner's circle.

Ah, but while the mountains may never men, erosion can take them down. And that too is part of the metaphor.

The concept of looking beyond the peaks is very good and serves as a good symbol of faith.Nice job.

Considering the strength and all-encompassing disruption of Florence, you painted a mood that surely is felt by millions right now. Being without power or background noise--except the rain--surely brings on melancholy thoughts.

Well done.

There no doubt you do miss Raven. Your love pours through in every line of your poem and is further clarified by your heartfelt author's notes.

I too lost a special friend this summer. Though I try to celebrate the gift of her presence in my life, it's so hard when trying to deal with my loneliness. I wrote about Laura, jjust as you memorialized Raven/.

I've read a couple of poems in this style before, but never one executed with such panache. To wed a technical challenge with artistry is extraordinary. Both sides of your brain must have been operating in 5th gear when you wrote this. LOL.

Wonderful.

I see your wondrous ability to mold words into sensual delights has not faded. You are such a unique poet. Though I'm struggling with my vision, seeing your name on the notification promises another rare treasure. You delivered.

I wasn't sure if I should laugh at the veiled innosence or turn on the air conditioning.

Adorable is exactly the right word, both the picture and story. I think any pet I've ever owned might not be too thrilled if anyone ggrabbed a handful of fur. LOL

Great opening.Starting with dialogue when there's a 50 word limit can either move the story quickly or bog it down. You executed every [art of hood writing-character, scene, crisis and resolution. Wonderful job!

Bravo! I loved this and think with 50 words, you did a brilliant job. My ONLY hesitation is the CRAP machine. I know exactly the apparatus you're talking about, but is it really called a CRAP machine? COPD I get, and if the acronym for this machine is really CRAP I think it's fantastic, but you should include an explanation in author's notes. It doesn't needthat to make it great, but if it really is correct initials...BONUS!

Falling Off The Edge by Ulla

I like your last lines the best. In just those few words you added intrigue. Did she? It actually sounds like my life story.

Where I think you could add more desire to buy the book would be to throw in some words of hope, redemption and courage. early on so that I want her to win. It's got style and digs into pain and loss, but I
d like to see the winning of good over evil or beating the odds.
