Abercorn's Assets by Giddy Nielsen-Sweep
Chapter 39 of the book West Wind

Hi Giddy,
I'm a little behind in my reviews as have been away camping with limited internet access. However I have caught up with your story and enjoyed this chapter immensely. Your description of the scenery around your home takes the reader into the picture. You girls certainly had fun, and to get a job back where you trained was a bonus.

Hi Ulla.
A nice acrostic poem for the contest.
Your photo and verse bring back so many memories for me of days when my husband and I used to anchor for the night and bring out the nibblies and wine. A very special time of day as the sun sets over the water.
good luck in the contest.

Roy and Gina Go for a Walk by Phyllis Stewart
Chapter 19 of the book ISLAND

Roy is becoming relaxed in Gina's company, but I wonder; Is he is misreading her signals? I suspect there was a pang of jealousy when Sophie dismissed Ken, and watched Roy walk into the woods with Gina.

Hi Phyllis ... I'm sorry for the late review, as I have been away camping and haven't had a reliable internet connection. However I have caught up with your story, and am getting back on track. From this chapter I see that Roy is still coming to grips with the way the communication system works, and he is flattered by Gina's not so subtle flirting with him as he prepares for his trip with her.

Hi Bob ... I'm still way behind in my reviews as have had internet connection problems while away from home.
This is a very emotional chapter, showing the brother's distrust of Mrs Kellogg as she puts the boys into the care of another dubious family. Such a pity that poor Brian has to go elsewhere.

PS - congrats on winning the recent Book of the Month contest.

A great entry for this contest, Mark. Mental and physical abuse disguised as religion by those so afraid of life they hide behind a curtain of self righteousness. At least this poor innocent, misguided boy found his father again. good luck in the contest.

I have just read this chapter, and although I am not familiar with the previous chapters, I did enjoy this one. I admire your writing style, the way you hold the reader's interest is very good, and your dialect perfect for the time period. I enjoy stories set in those times.

Aha ... she's jumped to conclusions too early. 'Leslie's' date is not Brad! A great twist, Phyllis; I wasn't expecting that. lol
Now, what is she going to do???

I knew Galloway was behind the poison candy. Ben really can't control his inner demon. I wonder what Lyle will do when he sees Ben alive, and will Galloway deal with Lyle, leaving Ben an innocent party. Hmm...lots of possibilities. Lovin' it.

I enjoyed reading your opinion of Colin Kaepernick's behaviour. I'm sure that his actions would not make any difference to change the way the people are treated. He does need a wake-up call, and do something that would really help. I hope more people like you share their opinions of him.
Just one thing I noted:
They rejoiced when African-Americans were granted the right to vote, and [the] (then) proudly voted in every election.

I enjoy your political pieces as we don't get all that much US news here downunder ... only the headliners.
Annette :)
