Thanks for the great notes to go with your Pickle. I enjoyed the rhyme and the interior rhyme of sight, slight, excite. I smiled at the visual that came to mind of a single star gazer perched on a stool, and the entire earth doing likewise while peering at the phenomenon. - Wendy

i have a dear friend who suffers the same way. It is sad that our thoughts and fears can turn physical in this way. I hope that a bit of peace of mind, rather than a cold cloth or aspirin cures you of future aches. - Wendy

This would be a fun read to the kiddos. It would be a great starting point for discussions of other lands or trying to guess what sights they saw during the night. I love this. - Wendy

A lovely entry for the contest and yes! Let the rotten wood be extricated and the healing begin. A great analogy and the artwork is a nice punctuation for the piece. - Wendy

A wonderful compendium of visual treats, interior rhymes, assonance, consonance, alliteration . . . well, I could go on and on. This is beautiful and drew me right in with you to savor each subtle nuance of the dance of hours. - Wendy

You are on a roll, my friend. I know how hard it is for some to be so isolated. I have an inn full of traveling nurses who are working to ease the pain of those who are afflicted, but as they are in the thick of it, we each isolate from the other in an intricate dance of disinfection, distance, and deference to the possible spread of the disease which brings us to this point. Thank heavens for my front porch so that I can rock and reflect and see the fall enter. - Wendy

I would hope to wag, but it gets harder and harder these days, doesn't it? I really enjoyed your clever poem and the various applications of the analogy. A fun read with the morning cuppa. - Wendy

I think we all need quite a bit more, "horsing around," and a lot less focus on petty politics and pointing fingers. I enjoyed your cinquain: the syllable count is spot on, the assonance is tastefully inserted along with the rat-a-tat of your Ts. - Wendy

Finding Land in a Sea of Doubt by Ideasaregems-Dawn

Lovely sonnet my dear and so true to what I am thinking and feeling these days. The turmoil, fomented by both parties in the game of politics has overwhelmed civility. There is no discussion, only dissent, disharmony, and dismay streaming from social media. A dove or two would go a long way to easing my jaded and heavy heart. - Wendy

A lovely cinquain and pictorial accompaniment. I know there are those who disdain illustration, saying that the poem should stand on it's own, but I think of the art as both an invitation to read, and punctuation. This is quite well done, Steve. - Wendy
