I was drawn to read this peppered pickle piece by the Nautical Knots painting. Your metaphors are brilliantly descriptive of life. I have an album of my late nautical husband's knots.

Your two liner makes me appreciate that I seldom suffer from insomnia. Your description of the sleep denied island conjures up the picture of an isolated sailor.

What a delightful bird wisdom poem accompanied by your daughter's charming photograph.. I am fascinated by the intriguing intelligence of birds. I have just been reading a study that is taking place about the intelligence of ravens. Apparently they are rated alongside some apes.

Intriguing though the illustration is, your sonnet alone paints the picture of remembrance of a loved one whose whisper travels through the forest. I feel like slipping a copy of your brilliant sonnet into my " The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" which was given to me by my older brother for my 13th birthday.
