Papa and His Pals
by Phyllis Stewart Chapter 35 of the book Singing Penguins
Now that is a good lesson for Mr. mom. these critters must be like a duck or chicken, laying eggs? Whom, you would think that live birth would be better under these arctic conditions? Bizarre place for egg layers. Smart tactic covering eggs with webbed feet. two months, now that is motherly love. Haha. Charming poem loaded with bundles of joy and witty humor. Wow! the video speak tons of words. This is educational. 46 below zero, not counting the wind chill factor! These creatures are smart. Dads are no dead beats here -- in the arctic. You figure men would do this for their wife? Yep, enjoying the video. Daddy dearest is sitting on top of six eggs. Not me. Wow! they leap out of the sea on ice like torpedos. wackydo

Thanks a million for the sixer, Wacky. So glad you enjoyed Papa's poem. If his penguin pals knew he didn't have to hold an egg out in the freezing darkness, but could go into a cabin to put his toes by the fire while wifey cooks dinner and an incubator does his job, they'd probably all want to be invited in... and there are hundreds, so they'd probably end up destroying the place. So he has to pretend to suffer just like them. Shhhh...! :)
