Apologies to anyone that might be confused. Mark, your poetry and this original form are not the same.
Roy can I be straight up with you?
That has got to be the best poem of yours in my eyes you have written of late and I have read it 3 times before making this statement wondering why I was thinking this.
Like it had your signature possession lines and lord reference toward the end of the poem but something gravitated toward me.I might not have found the lord like you have but I could have been that young kid.
Your author's notes were wonderful "I lost that boyish optimism but it was replaced when I was a man, sparked by an experience of hope later in life". So honest and from the heart.
thanks for sharing Roy.
Deserves a six if I had one.
You certainly aren't on your own with that Dolly I think EVERY country throughout the world was taken by surprise of the enormity and the acceleration in which it has spread. Many countries were unprepared and unco ordinated.
Here in Australia we closed our borders but one cruise ship alone was allowed to embark with many passengers not showing symptoms but proved to be positive RThe whole thing is heart breaking and one take our hat off to all the medical staff be it nurses doctors and wardsmen who are unselfishly and thankless risking their lives to fight this pandemic.
It really is a travesty of sheer unpreparedness and a false sense that it was merely just another flu virus but unfortunately this strain is proving to be quite virilant and does not discriminate race colour creed religion or political persausion
Great poem reflecting the work our heroes in the medical profession are doing.
Thanks for sharing
short and sweet Lyen Yes its true and heart is the brain to the soul.
did you know it has been proven that someone can actually die from emotional broken heart not just a heart that is physically broken.
Thanks for sharing always appreciate your posts
Isn't nature amazing and so resourceful and adaptable are the planrs , flowers and forests that live by it. in my surfing travels to exotic Indonesian Islands I see some amazing trees right on the water's edge that have taken root over vertivcal cliff faces and grow tenaciously.
I am sure in your study of subjects for your plant genus sonnet poems you would have come across many weird and wonderful plants and flowers especially.
Thanks for sharing
haha I am so inspired by this to write a funny ditty about the male's other brain lol
The brain is an amazing 'muscle'
Since I have become involved involved with 'isodynamics reviver' over two years ago, I have certainly learnt a lot about the brain and its make up.
"isodynamics reviver" is the trade name of the exercise machine, a local electrician developed to help his mother with nearly complete loss of senility. She is now about to celebrate her 90th birthday and she now goes dancing and walking 3 years ago she couldn't even boil an egg.
The principle of the machine is that it stimulates the neural pathways in the brain by putting the body in a flight or fright situation by merely have one stand on a dish which has a stem and a hoop.
2 years ago I was in chronic back pain, I could not get up out of bed without suffering.
I had an x ray that showed 6 vertebrae had virtually no discs left.
A friend who helped Geoff develop this machine invited me down to his small showroom to have a go
After three goes I was surfing again and getting up like a 30 year old (I am 65 now and still on a shortboard)
It bhas also been amazing for parkinson's disease sufferers and multiple sclerosis sufferers.
I had suffered fro bi polar depression over the years but since using this machine, I have not taken anything for mood swings at all in the last 2 years I am totally medication free and the spinal fusion for my back was cancelled.
Its all to do with the invigoration of the neural pathways
In the case of depression I think it is invigorating ones endorphins prompting the feel good chemicals, serotonin and dopermine to be produced naturally.
As for the physical advantages, The vestibular system is being prompted to talk to the cerebellum which is the part of the brain that is responsible for balance and muscle movement.
I am totally convinced this machine has changed my life both physically and mentally.
Back to ypour poem. I really liked it sorry I digresssed but your poem prompted me to tell you about this incredible life changer that unfortunately is only available in my hometown of sydney Australia but once this pandemic is over it will be go8ing worldwide
Wow! Thanks for sharing that, Dip! I will keep it in mind. I'm sure the cost would be prohibitive and the space it takes up would consume my living room. But I am so happy to hear about all the good benefits for you! Thanks for reviewing, too. Blessings!
A beautiful sermon like piece of prose.
Roy, I think it really is time to step up to the plate when our world gets back to normal if it ever does and become a minister at your local church.
You have done everything else in your life I think it really is God's calling for you now, I really do.
Your words are always beautifully put together but when I read a two verse quatrain I feel its always crying out for that third finishing voice.
I know its just my expectation and there is no rule, it's purely just me.
