I felt this poem and that to me is what defines good writing, because it can have a zillion punctuations and no one can relate or feel it. This poem captured my emotions, My favorite part You are there when I'm hurting
You share all my pain
When I'm in need of encouragement
I call out your name

When I need a crutch to lean on
you give me your shoulders
In my time of heartache
you wipe away my tears

When my enemies try
to bring me down
You always lift
me up

I thought this poem was cute and fun. I have a cat but we don't have such a dynamic relationship as you mentioned here in this poem. I felt the joy and honestly could picture the cat.

Great contest concept. I enjoyed reading and this is what I can relate to personally,

My greatest imperfection is a tendency to love unconditionally. Over the years, I have been hurt, used and maligned, but nothing has destroyed this loving spirit within me. I believe we were all created by the Master Craftsman, which is the reason I can love others. He doesn't make mistakes or toss out rejects. All His creations are perfect. It is humans' ability to exercise free will that makes some of them unpleasant. I believe there is G-d's DNA in everyone, whether or not he or she accepts Him. That fact alone allows me to love everyone, no matter his or her disposition. I admit, there are times when toxicity abounds, and I must love from afar.

Working with many substance abusers this sounds like their song before their turning point to change their life, for themselves but also for their family and children that have been prisoners of the song. Beautiful.

I know a friend of mine that could personally relate to this story and what would stand out to her is this part,
Her soul dissected, nothing has she spared
to bring to birth the lines her muse cries out,
philosophies and weighty insights shared;
