Red Lipstick, Leather Jacket by B. Diehl

I am horribly confused about poetry...even more now!

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I'm schizophrenic
& so am I

(Not really!!)

I really don't get poetry at all. I thought everything had to rhyme!

Dementia, the Savior by B. Diehl

I've often told people I'd rather have dementia than a crippled body.

My mom had MS & was in a wheelchair in a nursing home over 14 years. She died at 61.

Dementia would have been a blessing to her.

Very funny! That's enough to make any child doubt all things good...not just Christmas!

I'm just glad you weren't any closer to the old bugger!

As a tragedy this is a beautiful story.

Thank you for sharing such a painful intimate part of your life with me. I am glad to know that your Faith helped you through the pain & helped you to appreciate the short moment you had with your daughter!

It's not always easy, but when you can see the gifts in your life it somehow helps to make the wounds heal stronger.

I know this has always been a sad memory, but I am thankful that you have been able to use it to help keep your family together & whole.

Stay Blessed.

Wow! It's amazing how much such a few words can say.

You are truly talented. You have the heart of a poet & it so shines through in your words.

The picture you chose it absolutely beautiful & it enhances the truth of your poem.

I love that you know your Gift!

It is rare to meet a person who not only knows their gift & acknowledges it, but also acknowledges where it comes from.

You are blessed to know who you are. I am blessed to be able to read your words.

I love your dedication! It's rare to see such truth in love.

Stay true to you and her. Stay true to 'you' as a couple and you will not fail.

Thank you for sharing such an intimate part of your life with such openness.

Stay Blessed!

B, I truly hope that people see your true genius! People think that we (as Bipolars) are the crazy ones.

I believe that we see the truth that others can't. We are not crazy. They are ignorant.

'"Slam, slam, slam!" cries the lesbian to God. And God picks up the Bible, demands it be revised!' is the best line I have ever read in a poem!

Thank you for sharing your words!

So sad. Dementia is mean. It steals the best of the person.

I think though that it is harder on the loved ones than the person affected. At least I hope so.

I hope that once the initial fear passes for the sufferer that they can relax into a calm of forgetfulness.

Maybe without the memories they can live without the guilt of having forgot their loved one's names?

Your sadness is so apparent. I'm sorry that there has been such sorrow.

I hope that you learned a lesson that made up for your hard times.

Life's lessons can be so difficult. The only thing that makes them easier is to know that you learned something that with help you grow.
