Accepting Change by Unspoken94
Chapter 59 of the book Conversations

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

When I finished reading this story I couldn't help but think of the fact that even though we think we are in charge of lives we are not and Stephen's experience demonstrates this perfectly. All our plans and prospects can change in an instant, or over time, but they do change. I love the emphasis on adapting to the changes because that's still something we can be in charge of.

This poem creates a lovely image of petals falling to the ground. The tongue-in-cheek conclusion is delightful since the tree has no remorse for littering.

Confinement by Unspoken94

This is a very powerful piece. The self reflection is forthright and recognizes a combination of good qualities and some not-so-good qualities. The strength of this poem is its honesty. In addition to the reflective nature of your poem there is also a challenge in this poem. You bare your soul and in so doing encourage the reader to do the same.

The Supplicant by victortouche

The strength of this poem to me is the sense of humility that the supplicant has in his prayer. Mercy is a kind of forgiveness and prayers of contrition are first and foremost acknowledgment of the need for forgiveness.

There is a humor here that is hard to achieve in the confines of a haiku, but in this short poem you have said much and created smiles.

Was I the Child You Lost? by Sis Cat

Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Miscarriage can be a devastating experience but doesn't seem to have the weight of losing a child who has come full term and is lost. The fact that you have written this poem gives credence to your love as a child for a mother in pain, the kind of pain that lives with a person.

Alone... I Walk by HarryT

The strength of this poem is its delicate, beautiful imagery. The message of loneliness at Christmas comes through clearly but the imagery makes the sad experience unique to the speaker.

With Gifted Words by catch22

I may be way off base with my interpretation but I get the impression that the speaker is talking about her poetic muse that comes to her in different ways and won't leave her alone because she has much to do yet with the gifted words.

haiku (day of the dead) by Gypsy Blue Rose
Chapter 4 of the book Haiku Club Challenges, Book II

The tone of this poem is comforting. Praying for loved ones at the altar is formally recognizing the value of praying for the dead and gives comfort to the one praying that there is still something you can do for the one who is loved but out of reach.

When I Go by RobertaLee

The essence of this poem is its expression of faith. The speaker seems undaunted in his belief in the next world and invites his love to be part of that faith. The tone of the poem is confidence and it stretches from beginning to end.
