The Liar by smerryman3

The best part of this story is the ending. The long delay in Mrs. Monroe assuaging her conscience is believable and her apology is almost painful to hear, but the kind heartedness of Keith is a triumph in goodness.

As Daylight Creeps In by Ogden

The candle as a means of illuminating the setting gives the sense of a time before electricity and an old-fashioned way of life is suggested. Much information in 17 syllables.

Truth by Hayley Solomon

There is a complexity to this poem that reflects the authenticity of the subject. Truth can be contradictory because it is not simple and can have many components.

Fire by Kelela

This haiku describes hot flashes that do seem like a consuming fire. The description of the physical discomfort is vivid and those who have, been there done that, will agree that the description is accurate.

The Key to My Heart by harmony13

Excellent

The subject of this poem is the key to the speaker's heart and the poem offers a complexity that the expression, key to my heart, belies. The key to her heart demands trust and results in trust.

First Swim by mermaids

Excellent

The strength of this poem is the appeal to several senses that takes the reader along on the speaker's swim. The images are vivid and give credence to the description.

A Love Almost Forgotten by Ulla
Prologue of the book Love Long Lost

Excellent

There is a tension in this story that comes from the circumstances of the phone call and as preposterous as it may seem after 40 years the story is entirely believable, thanks to the character development. Well done

A Psychology for Circumstances by Unspoken94
Chapter 52 of the book Conversations

When I read your writing I continue to nod my head in agreement at the profound yet simple statements your writing makes. By simple, I don't mean simplistic. I mean uncluttered. You manage to pare away the extraneous and get to the heart of the matter. In this case I agree whole heartedly, the circumstance is not in charge. The personal response is in charge.

Homecoming by kiwisteveh

Excellent

This poem celebrates the return of the speaker's son from wartime experience but at the same time questions his service. The quatrains are like mini chapters in the story line and the rhyme moves the words along quickly.

An Alaskan Childhood by ~Dovey

The message I get from this poem is that nothing is really unbearable if you are accustomed to it and prepared for it. Twenty below sounds impossible to function in but not if you are in Alaska with a mom who makes sure you are dressed right.
