Defund the Police by Robert Zimmerman

Excellent

Last night, Lester Holt interviewed some politico, asking what we can do to end the protests. My mouth literally dropped open when she said get rid of the police. Naive me did not know that there was such an influential radical segment in our population. It's sickening.
You keep writing.

Thanks for keeping us up to date, Terry. I have been thinking of you. The fact that your sister is texting you must make your pain unbearable. You and your entire family are in my prayers. I miss hearing from you.

I like the dual meaning of your rocket streaking to heaven. At least I like to think about those brave souls in heaven.
I'm glad you did this one Mark. With the latest launch, I was thinking about the Challenger, too.

These words sound like lyrics to a song, Dawn. You just need what I think they call a hook--repeated lines. I think yours is
Give in. Rise again. . . .
I like your heartfelt message and your words.

I honestly tried to not give you another one of my sixes, but I could not bring myself to do it. These 17 syllables are so deserving. You could easily win the contest.
I love your extended metaphor. To me, your doors are stages of life--turning points that represent a journey where hopes will be fulfilled or dashed. It's next to impossible to close those doors. To do so gives finality to failure.
Truly outstanding, Diane.

Once again, thank you for this poem. Your words are strong and inspiring like your oak. I used to be strong. I can be again. Understanding friends like you help for sure.

The First Amendment by Robert Zimmerman

Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Oh, I prayed all right. Then this morning I went looking for your words of wisdom on the protests. In Birmingham, we have a curfew, and they have taken down a confederate memorial. Both good things. I pray the rioting will stop.
This Pandemic and now the rioting have caused me to lose faith in people. They think the first amendment is their own personal right that gives them the freedom to do what they like.
I better pray harder.

I had no idea there were so much insults that stem from noses. Surely you used them all.
This piece is outstanding for your banter. Since the quick wit comes from a termite, it becomes great characterization.
I enjoyed your fable very much.

Thank you for taking us to Miller's Pond. I thoroughly enjoyed the trek and the treasures that you described. Your poem is teeming with images and life. I'm so glad that there are still such places away from the clamoring throng. I bet Michigan is full of them.
Your descriptions are moving, Diane. Simply lovely.

To Hear Honor's Call by Mrs. KT

You speak to my heart with this one, Diane. One of the saddest things about this Pandemic is that I have lost so much faith in my fellow men. I used to really like people but the virus has opened my eyes. The virus has brought out the worst in people. The selfishness if so profound that it hurts me. And, it makes me angrier than I've ever been. I heard an interview with a young man who had just attended one of the wild parties. He said that "If I catch the virus, I can live with the consequences." Duhhhhh. It will be the medical profession who has to treat him and the innocent people that he contaminates that live with his consequences.
Thank you for writing this. Your conclusion shows a faith in mankind that I do not share at the moment. I pray that you are right.
