Perfect Pears To Paint by BeasPeas
Chapter 38 of the book 2018~2019 Picture This Poems

Excellent

Hi, Marilyn. This is only my second review this year. Most of this poem is in iambic tetrameter. But, some lines are not. I have some suggestions if you don't mind. Here:

"Passing up the soft, ripe and spent;"

"They pass on softer ripe and spent"

Here:

"none will do but the best to suit

"'cause none will do but best in suit". (As in playing cards). To is OK as well

"choosing instead one picked at prime"

"Instead, they choose one picked at prime"

"while subtle bouquet wafts on air"

"bouquet so subtle wafts on air"

Nice painting. They look kind of like gourds. Take care. I liked the poem too. I did a pear painting as well. Are you interested in making greeting cards and other products for free? You could give them as gifts. You don't actually make the products, just design them on line in your studio. Let me know

Wow, Jim. I could never write like that. I am not sure I understand it all, but the verse is beautiful. I've really only seen your tankas. This is my first review of the year. A solid sixer for you. Thank you for sharing

Patzer by lyenochka
Chapter 122 of the book Word for That

Excellent

Hi Helen. I know very well what Patzer means. It reminds me of an emotional crisis I had. My husband, whine I only knew casually, saved me back then. I was playing in the country's championship and made the mistake of asking my dad to come watch a round. Then, I would meet him for lunch on my way home. Two more terms for poor chess players are "fish" and "wood pusher". My dad brought two coworkers with them. I was so nervous with a knot in my stomach. This is the same dad who abandoned me to the state when I was 16 years old. I lost that game. My score to that point had me in the lead having played no h for champions. 4.5/6. His friends asked him where we should go to dinner. He said he didn't know of any patzer place, so we'll go to a fish place. I was miserable. My dad ignored me the entire time. His friends talked to me and asked him multiple times if he even liked his kid (me). When he was dropping me off, I asked when we should meet for lunch on the way back? He said not to bother. He does not eat lunch with losers. It was devastating to my psyche. I fell apart and my husband was there to rescue me. I only knee him casually from chess tournaments. From that time on, I decidef not to let his lack of love affect me. Stick to subjects that do not require any emotions. I forgave both of my parents.

But, another chess lingo story. You could use these words also. When playing a tournament chess game, one is not allowed to touch any piece unless one is moving that piece. But, if you say J'adorned, you can adjust your piece. It is like saying pardon me. That is what it means in French, I think. So we chess players used it in real life with each other. Non chess players did not understand. Good job. Thank you for sharing and for mentioning me.

Hi Craig. Happy New Year! I hope you had a nice Christmas. I, too will be posting far less next year. This poem of yours is the first I have ever seen by you that does not have the new word. I checked three times. Lol. Don't trust my old eyes. Enjoy your trip. Your poem definitely defined the word. Good job. Thank you for sharing

Tanka 12/18 (my true love) by Pantygynt

This was fun to review, Jim. Learned what a Colly bird was. Little trinket that it is. It is a very fun Christmas song. Amateur choirs and carolers love to harmonize the verses My five sisters belong to a choir led by my oldest sister. I have always been too unhealthy to participate. Though I can sing. They have to stand. In hot weather and sweltering nursing homes. I am the only missing sister. I was thinking of painting a partridge in a pear tree but decided it was not original enough. Well done. I've never heard this song either. Look at all you are teaching me. My family was not big on Christmas. Yes, we got a few gifts. Mostly like a color TV! For the entire family of 11 to share. Some tiny gifts most would consider stocking stuffers. We had no stockings. I had to ask why they were hanging at one house. But a very limited number of Christmas songs. I wonder if maybe only certain ones made it to the new world. Thank you for sharing

Hi Jim. This is another song about which I had no knowledge. I went on the internet to hear it. Apple Music tried to charge me for Harry Balafonte's version. I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing

Lol Craig. I will not recognize you without a new word. Christmas tomorrow. I guess 99% of us will be doniferous.
Vociferous he is indeed. But two word vocabulary besides reindeer names. Ho and On. Ho Ho Ho and On Dasher, on Blitzen. Merry Christmas, Craig. Thank you for sharing

I'm Only the Drone by Pantygynt

Hi Jim. A sixer for you. I have seen many examples of quaterns but only yours and Gloria's are done so well that they sound natural. I heard about that. But that pair that was arrested was let go. They cooperated fully. Have they found the culprits yet? I never thought drones should be legal. I don't think three d printers should either since it can make a gun or a grenade or a bomb. But, what do I know? Thank you for sharing

Unredeemed by Dean Kuch

Hi Dean. I do not believe in Hell. Unless we are already in it. Some parts of the world are hell. Humans caught by human trafficking are in hell. I remember watching a documentary showing the location where Germans killed a bunch of French troops and civilians. It looked so pretty and peaceful. Then, my husband said that's what hell looks like. Syria, DRC, Yemen are in hell right now. In our case, we have the ability to make our lives happy or sad. But people in those situations can't. Be a good boy and you won't have to worry. Boo! Well done. Thank you for sharing
