I've not climbed mountains... by royowen

I've been out a couple days and I read this first thing. Every poem you write about the Lord has deep meaning that gushes from your words and makes it so special. I can see that the Lord is using you, as you are a witness to His love and power. Your rhyming is to a steady beat and the message is clear. I love and respect your testimony and this poem:)
Be well,
Tina

This is so earth-loving. You describe nature's process in an ethereal way. The palette brush to the drumbeats to blanket of snow...this is beautiful:)

This is awesome. Your words "drip" with meaning. They are rich and loaded with truth. Greed can make your target slip through your fingers.
Roy just posted a poem about promises. I liked his for the same reason I like yours. You both wrote of universal flaws in people. Being greedy applies to all of us at some point in our lives. Theres freedom in admitting noone on earth is perfect. I wish you luck in the contest.

My writings... by royowen

You made me give a six. You have such an eternal view of life. This poem uses such lofty words and phrases that it makes my thoughts hover over earth for a second and look at your life as an observer. I see you writing with eyes on heaven. Our writing should indeed be considered God's, as He made us and gave us gifts. Thank you for this writing that makes me float. Our purpose in life is not our own.
Thank you for sharing your legacy with us, your poet family!

P.S. I am saving this as an encouragement to write Gods poetry.

Promises... by royowen

That (betray) the truth.

This little poem is deeper than it first seems! I usually hate political poems, but since this one applies to both "sides" and people everywhere, it is a keeper.
In your author notes, the strongest amen came from this statement...

"A promise is something that is assured of happening. Which no human being can truly give."
You nailed the fallacy of promises. Only God can keep all promises.
I will remember this:)

Yes and yes! Just the facts please. "Wield their words to build"...love the alliteration and rhyme, and summation of their strategy. Great little one-liner. I'm tired of the "sides" that divide, and the politics 24-7! Your poem is both cute and serious. It engaged me a lot for a few words!

I read this twice, to absorb all the special-ness. I love your characterization of Emma, so that at the end of the narrative, I totally get why she would be so missed. Emma caring for animals reinforces her good heart for others. This was a beautiful write, and one that has such a high purpose, to credit others:)

My mother by trimple

I read the love and respect you have for your mom. She would be so touched by this, and proud of your writing. I like the light punctuation and excellent rhyme, but mostly the meaning. Your last stanza is a great ending. It is liked you watched the performance of your mother and loved it so much, it brought tears. It is a wonderful mom that inspires poetry of this quality. Great writing!

It is nice to see a political poem that eschews working together toward a common goal....which is what we need to hear. This is a most positive and wise poem that is done with excellent rhyme throughout.
Thanks for sharing this!

Fears and tears... by royowen

Faith's redeeming stream...that phrase holds so much meaning. The whole poem is a stream of consistent thought about Jesus being the cure for ills we try to hide. Some of the funniest people I know and also in show business deal with depression. Jesus' total acceptance and mercy is just what we need to be ourselves that He meant us to be. We don't need to pretend or hide. This is one of those important poems that may help someone.
