Soul Sentinel by Gypsy Blue Rose
Chapter 27 of the book Horror Haiku

Gypsy,

I favor more this dark-like version of your Haiku posts.

Maybe the reader would like to know the source of your quoted line. 'soulful sentinel' makes more sense to me, unless your 'soul' is an entendre for the sole/lone sentinel guarding the door.

Lincoln's Photo Shoot by judiverse

Judi,

An very good story about how honest he was even when the photographer wanted Lincoln to be posed in the best light.

Methinks your play is too short for Broadway, but finely staged for the FS audience.

Gypsy,

Do like your connect and twist with Robert Frost's famous poem.

You explained a most natural scene with your Haiku post, unlike your typical gothic ones with Dean in mind.

Regardless of age, if you have the bod you flaunt it (-;

Some of us are more like you!

Funny entry. I yearn to sit at the beach or lake with other people near by.

I shared this post with my spouse who is a big road cyclist. She carries a spray to fend off dogs on her trips. She thought your poem was especially apropos.

Nice overall presentation for this contest.

Congrats on this win Debbie! Your Dalmatian twin picture is so precious and appropriate for your short rhymed entry.

Missed seeing and voting, but better late than never. (-;

Janice,

I can't write limericks but that doesn't mean I can't grin at yours! A very funny piece of artwork - it should draw attention to your post for sure.

Maybe your last line could be:

Then into the pond they went slippin'. (still 9 syllables), or
To the pond they went skinny-dippin'.

GBR,

Another terrific illustration to accompany your post.

Not quite sure, but methinks that it is the gargoyle's throat that is spewing the rain, so it should be 'spews' to agree with the singular subject.

GBR,

An excellent illustration combined with your Haiku make for a terrific presentation. I might suggest a squiggle after your middle line to set off your satori.

Thanks for my look today.

GBR,

I think it is great that you consistently educate us about the Haiku format. But I would prefer when you tell us the kigo is winter, you share the specific word or phrase that represents that.

I do like your 'carri' in red!
