Sweet Swamp Sandy by oNray

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I love this poem. It is so sweet but also honest. Sometimes what we love and hold dear about a person are not the most glamorous and romantic things but the simple day to day things.

I really enjoyed this poem and think that you worked your titles in beautifully. However, I think that having them in such a different size/style is a bit distracting.

This is such a heartfelt and relatable poem. I like what have you done; conveying the lingering value of a memory - even one that appears to be bittersweet.

I love the imagery you've created and the chosen picture. I think that the short and magic life span of a balloon is perfectly depicted. There is also a nice sense of closure with the balloon saying "goodnight" and being at peace with the fact that the child will pick up a kite in its place.

This is such a sweet and wholesome poem. I love the span of generations represented. I hope your son is able to read this poem and know how proud you are.

I enjoy your your 5-7-5 and think that it is well written, however, I am personally a bit conflicted with the display. The image is very cool and while I like that you have incorporated the style below in your text, it is almost too contrasting to read the poem as a whole. I like the repetition of the "f" words being bold and blue but to me it is too strong of a contrast to enjoy the poem as a whole.

I think you have succeeded in writing a beautiful poem with a very well constructed visual effect between your image and color choices. I do not know if it fits the awdl sonnet because I am not familiar with that scheme - but I do think that it is an effective poem that flows well and it full of great imagery.

This well written with an effective line for the repetition. I enjoy the bright color scheme and the positive feeling of the poem for a fresh beginning. Thank you for sharing and Happy New Year!

I thought that your lyrics worked well on their own, however, the author's note gave them an even greater context which I really appreciated. I think that having a balance towards the end with a female echo, "'I'm just a girl...
Pleased don't make me cry? I'm the Sun, the Moon, and all the Blue Skies..." added another layer to the entire piece strengthening it. Well done, I would love to hear the musical accompaniment for these lyrics.

The End Will Come... by Mike Stevens

This reminds me of something out of Dr. Seuss. Your animal imagery is well contrived and thinly veils the actual subject(s) of your poem effectively. The humor is there but has a dark cynical twist which I appreciate as well. Overall, nicely done!
