Beans, Beans, and More Beans by thaities, Rebecca V.

What a wonderful and memorable story to read. My husband swears by beans and they are one of his favorite foods. He does spend a lot of time on them, but I can't imagine the time spent in your story on beans. Not for me anyway! Of course that's probably why my husband does all the cooking. Very well written, extremely entertaining, and I sure learned a lot! Thanks for sharing this memory with us.

Only with you ... by Melodie Michelle

Sad and happy at the same time! You refer to private things in your past that caused you pain and weakness, and then you go on to say how strong you are now because of who you have standing beside you, or behind you. I think you probably have more personal strength than you know, even when he is right next to you. Stay strong, get stronger, and I wish you continued happiness. Well written.

I love this poem, reminding me of the way we feel when the daffodils and tulips start peeking through the earth. I always feel hope, after a long bitter winter in the Northeast.I love the line about enchantment washing over me.The image you chose to complement your words is absolutely stunning. Beautiful writing!

Very informative, very well written, and although I am fairly familiar with the Bible, I learned a lot of new things. There is nothing I love more than learning new things. When we look back on the past, it is so sad to see how people treated one another, and yet it is still in existence today. We can only hope and pray that one day all people will see each other as equals. Wonderfully written.

Northland by BeasPeas

I love this poem because I live in upstate New York, about 1 1/2 hours from Canada. The cold is better and the snow is deep. The wind is biting at your face. But the autumn is breathtaking, the summer is lovely, and I must admit the spring is mostly mud! But the people are warm and kind and friendly, and the scenery of living on Lake Champlain near the Adirondack Mountains is breathtaking. I think I will stay in my "Northland" also. Wonderful poem and I love the image,

Miracles Big and Small by Teri7

Very well written story. I've stayed out of all public places as I work at a nursing home and I was so afraid to be a carrier and bring Covid in. We were the only nursing home in NY state that had no Covid in it. It hit us hard about 6 wks ago and it was hard to watch people I love die, then of course I got it myself. I did see many miracles over these weeks, and they got me through those days. Still there, but decreasing. God bless you.

The Emperor by Robert Zimmerman

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

An absolutely excellent piece of writing! I don't agree with every bit of it but that's often true with political discussions. I'm not sure about the money set aside for the huge wall, which was never built, when supposedly we were told by Mr. Trump that Mexico would pay for it. Our Allies have completely stop trusting us, yet most of them say they're glad we have a new president. While I know illegal immigrants are a huge problem, two of my sisters live in Arizona. They said thank God the illegal Mexican immigrants are working so hard because most of the Americans there don't want to bother doing anything menial. Mr. Trump just lied too often for me. As far as President Biden goes, we shall see. He certainly has his work cut out for him, for the first four executive orders he signed were undoing things that Mr. Trump had done. According to MSNBC, he did not need Congress to do those. Of course I keep an open mind and know that the news is not always right.I truly respect your intelligence, your informative writing, and the passion with which you write. And even if I don't always agree with you, I will continue to read your posts, as I find them very interesting and extremely informative. This one helped me look at both sides a little more clearly. The only thing I will say, that I feel strongly about and will probably bring in a lot of disagreement, is that now we have a president in the White House who has a heart.

Street Lamp Memorial by lyenochka

Whether she had the correct street lamp or not, this is still a lovely, sad, and still funny story. I love when people do not forget people who die, even if they do not know the person. They seem to be aware that that person was probably very important to many many people and she is celebrating that. And she also helped people get to the party on the right day! Wonderful story, great dialogue!

I can totally relate, Dolly. We live in New Jersey when I was little and then moved to way upstate New York when I was 10. We lived on a wonderful street full of children and my mother who is 95, is still in touch with some of those mothers, and we left that street in 1967. I have stayed in touch with my best friend from kindergarten on. Just yesterday she sent me a photo she found of a birthday party we were at with our little dresses and scrawny legs and birthday hats on, all in black-and-white of course. There's nothing better to see, great poem and heartwarming photo.

Hi Debbie! What a wonderful poem. Your words flow beautifully and you got so much into those 17 little syllables. Picture is absolutely stunning. I have sat and watched Ants before and they amaze me, A little tiny ant carrying a huge crumb always makes me think of the strong worth ethic they possess. And, of course, this poem is a wonderful metaphor for human beings and life. Very well done. I've missed you. Terry
