Stuck in a Rut by LisaMay

A great entry for the eight words or less contest - with three rhymes, no less! I also like the title. People with narrow minds are not able to cope with any broadening experience, so as you say they remain stuck in a rut of their own making. Best wishes for your entry.

Revenge - Chap 27 by Begin Again
Chapter 27 of the book Revenge

A clever and sarcastic remark by Samantha to the sheriff. Allie has to continue to believe in her sister's integrity and realise the trap they are trying to set. Meantime Tiffany also needs to stay safe and in hiding until it's all sorted. Complex but compelling story.

New Year's Day by Gypsy Blue Rose

The image is a sad one, as are your words. This boy experiences the opposite of what most people express at New Year - hope for a happy year. There is nothing worse than trying to face life without hope of love, support and encouragement, particularly from parents. Very thoughtfully expressed, and the reader wants to know more, the back story.
Well done.

A beautiful Thanksgiving prayer, which your loved ones will appreciate and enjoy. I like that the focus is on being grateful for both material and spiritual blessings and also on becoming more like Jesus each day.

Poetry by Barry Penfold

As you express so well, inspiration is drawn from all aspects of living - past, present and future, including, memories, hopes and aspirations. Perhaps we all experience variations on all these variables, and yet because we are all human, they are in essence all the same - but the various selections of words and compositions of phrases mean that all are expressed with creativity and imagination - making poetry. Lovely poem, well written. Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

Sky turned ashen by Sanku

Not everyone enjoys winter - for many it is a time of bitter gloom as you have expressed in the third line. Your poem captures the contrast between the greyness of winter skies and the blinding white all around. All seems silent, even around the fireplace.

Even the photo is a warning to children to clean their teeth! Imagine people trying on dentures to get a good fit!!! Well written poem with a good flow and rhyme. (Typo in the last line: "your" not "you".)

Blue Eyed Woman by LaChelle King

A powerful poem about domestic violence and abuse ... and the child's viewpoint is a powerful one. She evidently tries to protect her mother, but is afraid of becoming like the abuser. I think there are many layers to this one. It is thoughtfully written from a place of experience, and thought-provoking. Well done.
