01/10/2007 What scares me the most, is a blank page. It still scares me.
02/10/2009 I'm back and I love reviewing other people's work. I am currently working on a book and some other short stories and I can't wait to try them on you guys.
I am a big fanatic of the Watergate incident, I've read so many books and have seen so many films. It's amazing to me after all these years(1972), there are still new revelations.
10/20/2009: I've never been a competitve person. But I think it's time I start competing is some fan story contests and trying to win at least one. Well, if I don't I wont care, but I think it might be fun.
I would like the thank the Z-Man and Barky for helping with scripts. Dr. Levy of course my mentor. Also NVER, who is on FanStory. I also wish to thank my wife and daughter for their constant support.
"I like to write something gangbusters with spelling errors, gramatical mistakes, horrible everything. And just have the backbone of what I'm trying to do. Then I pull it out of the typewriter and shove it in a drawer and I come back a year later and rewrite most if not the enitre thing."-Carl J Grasso
"Sometimes I'll write something, put it away, and come back to it a year later, two years later, once five yars later, and jump immediately back to where I left off." -Carl J Grasso
"Cynicism is a disease, and I am proud to suffer from it."

Linda England Bonam: Had to laugh when I read this. I had the neighbors from hell living above me one time in an apartment. It sounded like the whole family did jumping jacks together before a game of basketball!! I punched the ceiling so hard with a broom that it put a broom size hole in the ceiling!!

OKAY NOW I'M MAD! I get blasted for putting up my own political views and put a disclaimer for saying that they're my OWN political views; so I back off and leave it alone. My piece never got to the top of fanstory and I didn't care that it did. So I log on and I see a haiku about Glenn Beck. It's the number two poem. Are you kidding? If you're going to use the site for politcal conversation do so and stop whipping out your credit card and spending money to put your views on the top of this website. It's stupid and it's not the point of this website. The point of this website is to get your stuff read and get feedback and to learn from other writers. If the Glenn Beck poem was actually a poem of some sort instead of a promotion or a plug, I wouldn't had a problem. Just pay fanstory money to advertise, other then that, stay off the site.

another jim: carl8447 sez: "It's stupid and it's not the point of this website."
I guess that all depends on who you ask, Carl. As a fledgling writer, I'd have to agree with you in principle, i.e., the "point" of FanStory is to get your stuff read and critiqued, and to become a better writer as a result.
However, it takes money to run a website like this, and the business model for generating that money isn't necessarily aligned with the individual wants and needs of us writers. The idea that one can promote one's work to the top of the page by simply spending cash may not sit well with the artist in us, but it's how the site sustains itself (in part, at least).
It's those deep-pocketed individuals who "whip out their credit cards" that keep the site solvent and, I might add, make it affordable for the rest of us. I can live with that; if I couldn't, I wouldn't be here.
I can't stand Glenn Beck, either; and yeah, he's probably the last person I'd wax poetic about. But if someone else wants to pen a paean to Beck and then spend their own money to promote the hell out of it? Hey, knock yourself out...
Artistic expression comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. And as long as it remains within the site's rules, where's the harm? Not a fan of odes to loudmouthed ideological buffoons? Just skip 'em and move on to something more to your liking.
