Thanks Everyone for your great reviews. It is wonderful to be writing again! I have not written anything in five years. This year it just called to me. It has been too long. I started here with a Halloween horror story five years ago, so it seemed an appropriate time to come back. This story was inspired one evening this Summer at the pool. I have always liked the Vikings and I love anything to do with swords (I used to fence with longswords), and it occurred to me to write a horror story featuring these proud warriors who would suddenly switch from being hunters to being hunted, from being terrorizers to being terrorized. And to do so required an ancient evil that, for whatever reason, decided that this was a good time to return to the surface.
Update: Wooohooooooooooo! Second Place!!
