I live in Australia, Queensland where it's beautiful one day perfect the next, well that's as far as the weather is concerned.
I'm married with two daughters and two dogs :) I enjoy anything creative, painting, poetry, quilting and even cooking.
I started writing poetry at the age of 35, I was hopeless but I got a whole lot of demons out of my system. Since this time I have found sturdier feet with my writing and enjoy it, don't know what I would do without it. It's been a long learning process for me in which I haven't yet completed.
I hope to get some valued critique here to help me grow. Please feel free to be totally honest with your comments. |

Fritz-Lorenz: Sharon Lee, I am fascinated wth the thought of Australia. I once had an opportunity to visit your
continent when I was stationed with The US Army Air Corp on Guam.
I missed doing that for sake of a cancelled flight. My daughter did
get to visit and tour there only
20 years back (To the wine Country) and she enjoyed the scene and people very much. I see you have queried here, opinions c. creativity. I believe first and foremost, that it must satisfy the writer. I do not think one can create sincerely, and with true conscience, unless you yourself are pleased. Then, let the chips fall where they may. - If others like it;you have struck a chord, and in doing so found accord.

Sharon Lee:
What do people really thinkā?¦ Should creativity and the process be totally driven for the reader or viewer? Or, should poetry and art be crafted out of the journey to construct?

Fleedleflump: We all tend to write for our audiences, even if we're determined to be true to a personal vision. Personally, I like to rebel and write the odd poem that's so obscure only the readers willing to spend a lot of time will be able to pick it apart. I guess that's the sadomasochist in me, inviting those baffled responses to be offended by!
As with anything, though, I think the best answer is 'six of one, half a dozen of the other'. The creator needs to feel empowered and assuaged by their creation, and the consumer needs to feel a connection. If you're really lucky, you'll find an audience for what you truly love creating. Otherwise, it's a case of falling in love with the compromise :-)

Sharon Lee: Falling in love with a compromise? isn't that like trying to fall in love with someone you're not in love with.

Fleedleflump: Not if you realise that what seemed like a compromise is actually an opportunity, a door leading to unknown treasures of inspiration ;-)

I hope to be critiqued, I want to learn where I can grow. I've had enough good intended words and I hope I don't step on too many toes. If I've stepped on toes let me know :)

kiwigirl2821: OMG girl friend I beg for people to bash me in here just so I can get stronger and write something that makes a difference! Toe stepping, omg still laughing...Just say what you think honestly at all times whether you are writing it or critiquing it. My biggest issue is people telling me what I "want" to hear instead of what the truth is ... if that makes sense...lol...welcome and good luck.
