jennyrambling: Problem solved :)

jennyrambling: I have recently read about and had one of the sock puppets on this site review me. Sock puppets? Reviewers who don't write. They have no profile history. Perhaps fanstory could sort a link from their profiles to all their comments so we can judge these puppets for ourselves?

jennyrambling: To feature your work you must critique others. I'm left feeling pressured to review simply to earn credits to pay to feature my works. I'm afraid I may end up running round the board commenting simply to earn points. So I'm done with it. I may comment but I wont critique. I know my work will not really get the exposure I had hoped for if I don't play the game of scoring points, but I guess that was in the small print. Signed: Gulliable Git

jennyrambling: I have been reading some lovely religious poetry which I have enjoyed. However, apologies from me for not commenting on them. As an athiest I feel it is not my place to do so.

Celtic~Soul: Jenny, while you may not agree with the religious views in the poetry, you should feel free to comment on rhyme, meter, construction, technical issues, and overall effectiveness of the work as a poem. Is the imagery rich? Are the phrases fresh and evocative? Does the work follow the technical requirements of the form? Does the writing evoke an emotional reaction? Is the poetry memorable and lingering in a positive way? One can assess those things without commenting on the subject of the poem. In fact, you should! Being a good critic is about telling the writer what works and what doesn't--and that can be done without agreeing or disagreeing with the topic! Sometimes being outside the author's typical audience gives you unique insights into the writing.

jennyrambling: I guess you're right. I'm simply cautious at causing offense.

jennyrambling: I like to write. I like to read. Sometimes I even like to pass on a comment. But to be told my review is too short and can't be posted makes me feel like my arm is being twisted into reviewing more wordy than I am. And I can't. Sorry. I'm not a critique, though I can pass a compliment. What a shame that's not allowed.

jennyrambling: I've posted a few pieces but am still finding my feet. Forgive me. I will be reading and commenting on works I enjoy just as soon as I'm comfortable with this site and know my way around. I use a nom de plume. That is all the information about me I'd like to offer at this time. I do hope that is alright?
